I haven’t been able to figure what, if anything, those styles do

Live and Let Diecast is using them. It seems they act as tags/filters with the benefit of being pinned permanently to the top of the main page.

I noticed this feature the other day, but now all of a sudden I can’t find it now. Weird.

Say, while we’re on the subject of Kinja features, what the heck is “distribution tools” for? Why would I want to “hide post from RSS”, and what’s up with “share headline”?

It’s in Manage Blog>Story Type.

What is up with “share headline”? Where’s that?

“Share Headline” is one of the options that comes up when you click on “distribution tools”. I have no idea why it’s there or what to do with it.

Apparently I don’t have access to use story types in Oppositelock. I was able to create a new story type for my personal blog by going to my personal blog’s Manage Blog>Story Type page, and now I once again have that story type box back at the top of my post editor. But as soon as I switch the box next to it to publish on Oppo, the story type box disappears.

They’re what allows the main page to sort posts into categories: racing, wrenching, motorcycles, auto show coverage, etc., etc. Jalopnik’s slowly been replacing subblogs with story types for simplicity’s sake—everything’s easily taggable by category but still lives on one main page.

I sadly couldn’t get them to come up on Oppo, though. :( Otherwise, I’d nominate Puffalopnik as a thing that should happen.
