This is an original paint 1957 Canadian Poncho 2 door. It’s got to be in the best condition I’ve ever seen a project car in. Big Al is debating not removing the doors at all because the car is impossibly straight. 60 years old, and a 2 door GM product, and the doors just click shut. Worked in this shop for years and know all the guys there, we’ve all wasted much of our lives dicking around with old cars. We like anything on wheels, but we don’t get excited about much.
We’re all just drooling over this car. It’s not an honour to work on people’s project cars, It’s an ill advised way to make a living. But damn this just the nicest hunk of raw material I’ve ever come across. It would be a delight to take this project on.

I wouldn’t pull the doors, either, if the drivers side fits as well as the passenger. From the photo, that thing has great gap/flushness.
I’ve never seen that quarter before. The taillight section looks like 55-56 Chevy, but the bulge in the molding area is unique to Canadian production, I think. Other than that, it looks like an exceptionally clean 150/210/BelAir post car.
Does it have the “rockets” in the hood?
Exceptionally not clean 210 for comparison :P

Smooth hood on these I beleive. I’ve seen a lot of old cars roll in and this one is just Glorious.
