She sits there, quietly. Ten cylinders emitting no noise. Soon enough dust to write “wash me”. I say “Hello, R8" every time I pass by, but never get a response.
To the owner’s credit I saw them take the car out even when snow first fell on the ground but maybe now the plan is to avoid salt. The right rear tire is flat so this car ain’t moving anywhere until that’s fixed. I also peeked inside the cabin: manual!

Don’t worry, she knows.

*extremely Werner Herzog voice*
“And, like us all striving to be super, we eventually realize we are so much scrap, rendered immobile by the cruelty of the world.”

There’s a 911 Turbo in the parking garage where I work, and I’ve only seen it move once. Somebody with my sense of humor left the owner a message in the 1/4" of dust on the rear window. “
Not fast enough to outrun dust
”
Next time I saw the car it had been washed. It’s back to 1/4" of dust now.
Le sigh.

If I’m gonna leave my car parked for weeks I’ll at least straighten out the steering wheel
