Between all of these candy bars, Tim Horton’s double doubles, all dressed chips and poutine I have no idea how all Canadians aren’t morbidly obese.

It’s the only way to make Timmy’s coffee drinkable. McDonald’s coffee is way better.

I had Tims for the first time in Niagara Falls last summer. I remember the Coffee being OK. The donuts were pretty good. McDonald’s is actually about the best coffee from a fast food place. Ever since they replaced their old garbage about 10 years ago it’s been hard to beat.

Contrary to the stereotype, while United Statespeople are more likely to be obese, Canadians are rarely in the middle like average USpeople. They’re either pretty thin/fit or morbidly obese, with almost no middle ground (think Harold on Red Green as a good example of a Canadian, while Red looks more like your typical Minnesotan).

If you’ve seen that show about really fat people trying to lose weight, the people seem really foreign to the average person here in the US because everyone is fat but few are like 350-400+ lbs (they happen, but they’re rare). In Canada, you see mostly really fit people, but if you watch closely you also see far more of the extreme outlier fat people...

I don’t know why this is, but I have always half-jokingly blamed it on how cheap Canadian chocolate is. Every store in the US has a candy aisle shared with other foods, while practically every drug store and grocery store has an entire aisle of chocolates in Canada. The amount of space dedicated to them, the number of varieties, and the fact they’re always extremely discounted has always struck me.

Back in 2004 I remember buying Coffee Crisps at 4 for a loon, which was like 15 US cents each for a full-size candy bar. Even then this was ridiculously cheap relative to the price of candy bars in the US.

Mc.D’s bought Timmy’s old recipe a few years ago. Timmy’s new dark roast it better-ish.

Canadians, like bears, used to build up a calorie reserve and go into hibernation to wait out the winter. However, due to pressures of modern life, they have adapted and now eat primarily processed fatty and sugary foods, especially during the winter to maintain homeostasis in the bitter cold wasteland that is the Arctic tundra. This can be seen in their primary diet of maple syrup, donuts and poutine.

Maple syrup has always been a staple of their diet, since the olden times when Canada used to be French, but before they became British and learned to speak an actual language.

If you are patient, you can usually observe Canadians hunting for maple syrup in the heavily wooded and forested areas of their land. Watching them stalk and drain their prey is a majestic display of the hunt ; hence their scientific name of homo sapiens maple syrup vampiris

I think Wendy’s coffee is much much better than McDonald’s.

This may be true. The Wendy’s breakfast experiment seems to have failed in my area and none of them do breakfast anymore. I had it once a few years ago before they gave up. My main memory was the hash browns were little silver dollar things and really really good.

I’ve actually never had Wendy’s breakfast. I’ve just had both coffees a number of time from traveling and the need for cheap fast coffee.
