Don’t you just hate it when a botched-up thread threatens you with the likelihood of having to replace an entire component? Here’s to all the mechanics who save their customers, their bosses, and themselves tons of time, money, and frustration by somehow managing to get that broken fastener out. Heroes, all of them.
This post was originally going to be a roundup of every extracted faster from 2018, but here we are, just a few weeks into the year, and there’s already an entire posting’s worth of win.

Remove both exhaust manifolds and extract the broken bolts, for 2 of them we welded a nut onto the broken bolt, and the last one was too deep into the head to i had to drill it and use an extractor.

My boss bought these cheapo Irwin extractors a year or so ago. They’ve just been taking up space on my work bench so decided to try ‘em out.

dental equipment. These are 2 bolts that hold the rotation brake onto the chair. If these break and you can’t get them out, the chassis of the chair is toast. A $1 bolt can make a $10k chair trash. Not the best design.

Snap on left hand extractor set. I have had a lot of practice with removing broken bolts. Time and patience are your best friend. Use a sharp left handed bit.
