It’s true: the new Ranger, in it’s smallest form, is actually bigger than the smallest F150.

They have the same estimated fuel economy, but a Ranger with power windows is much cheaper than a F-150 with power windows. Also, the extra behind the front seat space is a lot of good storage area. I think I would always get the rear seat delete option on the Ranger.

Width isn’t measured the same. Its usually the width without the mirrors but for some reason they included the mirrors in the Ranger measurement.

The only thing the Ranger is smaller than is the full size F150.

Wait, don’t forget, the Canyon is apparently slightly wider.

So much for having small trucks.

Yes, for the Super Cab (granted the smallest of the Rangers you’ll get) because you won’t be getting the two door Regular Cab which is 207.7"

Ford Ranger XL Single Cab.

Kinja'd!!!

Put the F150 Super Cab 5.5 Styleside (239.1") against the Ranger Super Cab   (211"), then you’ll see the size difference

So spec for spec, the F150 is larger.

Two thoughts:
1 - The cab-and-a-half Ranger looks so much better than the 4-door they have been promoting
2 - You can still get a single cab short bed F150? Neat.

A supercab Ranger is longer than a singlecab F150. What’s interesting is the fuel economy is similar. However width, weight and everything else is smaller.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a small truck, except for Japanese Kei trucks, city utility work trucks and car based UTEs.

Happily, for once this isn’t due to America’s design preference, but international market demands. All our mid-sized trucks are based on existing international designs except for the Tacoma, though it’s Hilux relative is also classified as mid-sized.

Apparently there isn’t enough demand in the World for small trucks, even in Europe and Asia.

I picked those two specifically because I wanted to see just how big the Ranger was despite the small truck claims.

Small trucks aren’t small.

Ye’, just spec for spec would of been accurate.

As each spec varies in length, interior dimensions and load bed size.
