A portion of the desirability of a sports type vehicle is image - Toyota has an uphill battle to make the car feel “genuine” even if it’s a spectacular vehicle mechanically . Their marketing department better have both barrels loaded.
(And it still looks kinda weird to me.. I can’t get past the nose or that roof line yet...)

Nose and roof line are the best points imo.

I *LITERALLY* don’t understand why Toyota doesn’t just start making the 1987 AE86 again .
Hundreds of enthusiasts like me would buy one used in a few years. Sad!

Well if it came with 600 HP, manual and used from the factory...

It'd cost even more.

Enthusiasts demand Toyota build a new sports car.
Justifiably enraged when Toyota just puts their badge on a BMW.

Why you bringing logic into this?

Same here. I’m loving this recent headline:

Because the A90 doesn’t deserve the hate it gets.

One humbly suggests that Land Rover may soon find themselves in a similar position...

This Supra release has made me aware that “Toyota Enthusiasts” are a thing. I honestly had no idea. Toyota is a Great company, I just didn’t realize that people were enthusiastic about the company.
