First couple times I met someone, under hobbies, I said “ I like cars”. I feel like I need to come clean.

Before getting married. Set your future wifes’s expectations so she becomes comfortable with your ability to manage the costs of the hobby. A supportive wife should have no problem giving a degree of financial freedom with regard to cars, or whatever else (except side chicks, probably), within some boundaries.

Do you think 3rd date is too soon to show up in your weekend car?
I;m flipping between, “ cool surprise” , or “who is this douche showing off”

Thank you Mr and M rs. C arsoffortlangley.

It’s such a huge part of my life that it comes up pretty quick with anyone I meet.

If this is a dating scenario, you need to come clean asap. If he or she isn’t supportive of your hobbies, it’s better if you both pull the plug early.

Usually by the 3rd beer I'm either talking about cars or architecture.

Some women hate being in conspicuous cars because it draws attention (silly, I know, considering how much effort some women put into looking nice). I'd ask first.

Get to know her and gauge her feelings about material possessions. Some women, even with the best of intentions, feel very awkward or self-conscious in the presence of certain types of perceived status symbols. Some don’t like tuner cars. Or exotic cars. Or whatever kind of cars. Or watches.
It could be a completely baseless misunderstanding, but best not to trigger those.
If you can’t figure this out by your third date, just skip the car until you know her better—keep the number of variables minimised.

Yeah she comes across as fairly humble and it is far from subtle.

Yeah that might be best to be “discovered” in your home garage one day.
Oh that, yeah, that’s my Porsche.....
that might play a bit better and you can gauge her reaction.

First time I meet someone if they ask about hobbies

I’d agree with Mrs CarsOfFortLangley.
Almost no one in my life is aware of my car situation. My family have no clue. Only my garage knows.
But if you like her, best to rip off the band-aid quickly before you go too far.
