So... the time has come to “get ‘er done” on the lights. I’ve laid out how I think it should work, but I need to know whether having all 4 XL Sports running off one battery connection/fuse/switch is too much for them or not.
From the Baja Designs the Wattage/Amps of each light is 26W / 2A which would mean the total draw would be 104W / 8A?. The switch appears to be 15A as well.
Do I need a relay? If so, what kind?
I am pretty out of my depth with electrical shit. Mounting the bar is going to be a different ballpark for me too.... but I can do it.
From left to right below you can see how the power/switch wires split into the two paths that hook up to the four lights.
Below is the switch, battery terminal connections and the fuse (15 amp).
Here is a closeup of a second set of switches/connections and fuses from the second set of lights (comes in 2 sets of 2).
Here is a closeup of the fusebox. Really high quality!!

I would run each pair of lights off of a relay, so add 2 relays in the system. But that is just me. I am used to using old s ch ool halogen fog/driving/off-road lights so things ma have changed with LED’s. I like the extra insurance.

yup. after 20 years of automotive electrical diagnosis, I could probably start with some wire spools and rewire your car. wiring is easy once you get the basics.

I would do a relay out of simplicity if nothing else; not knowing the power draw of those lights it’s a safe bet. A single fused circuit should be fine for it if they’re LEDs.

A relay is required if the power draw of the 4x lamps is close to the capacity of the switch. I.E., if your switch is rated at 15a and the lamps will pull 15a, you’d need a relay. (you’d also need a heavier fuse and heaver wiring for a 15a circuit, the fuse should be the “weakest” component in this circuit)

I know when I installed the factory style fogs on my Accent, the wiring harness that came with the kit already had a relay in-line (on the left)
.
I don’t see why you’d need more than one relay, but I would recommend one. It makes things easier in a way!

12v 4 0 amp relays are the norm. Little black boxes. Lordco, CT, or electronics shop.

Wattage/Amps: 26W / 2A
Each lamp is 2A so there would be 8 going through that switch. It’s pretty skookum, I wouldn’t hesitate to run them as is if you were adding the two sets independently.

Plain old 20A relay that could be marked DPDT (double point double throw) but that’s not that important. Main thing is that the relay will have at least four pins - earth, battery, source, load. In your case, I’d run two relays.
Pair the earth’s and run them to your switch. Pair the battery pins and run them to your battery. The source pins can be paired and taken to your headlight high beam active (some vehicles are positive switched, some are negative switched). The load pins go to your spotlights.
It is possible to get an adaptor block for the back of your headlight to allow connection to the high beam without cutting in. Narva, ARB and a number of 4x4 outlets sell such parts as part of a branded spotlight wiring harness kit.

Ideally you would use a relay. It would go between the fuse and the lights. The circuit to power the relay would have the switch and could get power from any 12v source. If you used the high beam 12v it would come on/off with the high beams when the switch is on.
A relay is just a powered switch, when you give it 12v (tiny amps) it closes and the big current (8A) can go from the batt to the lights.
If you have a spot for two switches put them both in with those harnesses as is. Putting all four lights together needs a relay.
