Smart enough to figure out that you own a 2004 Mini Cooper, not smart enough to know that the rear wiper is different between 2004 and 2005.

Amazon’s got pretty bad ideas about what fits my car. Should take a 24" and a 22" but Amazon also lists 21" and 18".

I’ve run in to that before with other parts so I usually double check part numbers at Rock Auto to make sure it’s right .

I should have but it was $11 instead of the usual $25-30 so I bought it.

Did you not double check the part number?

I did not. I saw Amazon claiming it fit my car and decided it would be worth paying $11 instead of the usual $25-30. It still fits its just 1/4 inch shorter than the old one and doesn't align with the arm at all.

Doh. Live and learn I guess.

I think I’m done buying parts from Amazon. Haven’t been burned yet but you really can’t trust their listings. I don’t mind paying a little more for a merchant who makes some effort to maintain their catalogue

Price difference should have been your first clue.

I admit I did the very same thing with the rear wiper on my old Mazda 3 - Amazon said ok, wasn’t even close...
