Or down near the street. First, a Hanomag-based motorhome:
And a “Shalako” dune buggy kind of thing:
Also saw a 4WD Delica on the road (uncommon out here), a Zoidberg era Toyota pickup with a sketchy homemade box conversion, Baja, etc.

I love that Shaloko thing. Like most of my favorite vehicles, it looks like something from a science fiction or post-apocalyptic film.

That Hanomag sure looks a lot like an Airstream trailer. Didn’t find any connection between Hanomag and Airstream on Google, but apparently this isn’t some DIY creation either. Because here ’s a nearly identical 1969 Silver Streak :
According to the link, “rare less than 50 made”. I dunno about that, but there’s some more info about it on VintageTrailerTalk .

Nice catch, the weirdness of it all made me miss the badge right behind the truck cab. Silver Streak it is, and of course one pops up in the PNW.

Correct me if I’m wrong but around 1970 Hanomag/ Henschel vehicles were also badged as Mercedes Benz

Yep, L206 or something like that.
When I first spotted it, I thought it was a MB, I had to circle around the block to see it again, and when I parked, I noticed no grille star.
