Post region-specific-transport solutions. “where we’re living we don’t have roads for like seven months of the year, so we strap an airplane engine to our bum and skate to work” -The Saskatchewan analouge of Doc Brown.
I live in Saskatchewan, where for a time, these were real vehicles that people “drove” Many were home brewed like the one on the left but the Fudge was series produced.

I can’t believe how many Oppo s live in Saskatchewan. I bet you that per capita, Saskatchewan is way over represented here.
You, CB and Longtime Lurker right?

Sweet! Having the general public around spinning propellors is always a great idea!
That’s pretty cool!

It’s Sask. Pretty sure you could pass out while driving it and wake up 3 hours later still moving and having hit nothing.

Natural selection is strong here. some call it a lax attitude to safety.

This seems terrible, for so many different reasons. The Snowplane, I can understand. This one, not so much.

LOL, I was coming here to post almost exactly this. Doubly so back in the 50s.

Around town, this thing would be horribly slow to accelerate, too. Traction is a much more efficient way to get power to the ground at low speeds.

I was once qualified to drive a cube van onto the airport runway and chock the wheels of a small plane. “I’ll just stay in the van thanks”

Behold, the Scoot! What happens when you take an engine, a propeller, a flat-hulled boat, and decide you want to get places on Georgian Bay.

There was another guy in Saskatoon, too.
Prairie meet would be fun. There used to be a lot more users in Alberta, but most are now inactive/infrequent.

I know that front end is for a completely different purpose, but I thought of those plows when I saw that car, too.

Snow clearing, or does that monster just bore it’s own rock tunnel, circumventing snow removal? very curious seriously.

I’m just now watching videos of these dangerous-looking contraptions. Mesmerizing videos.
