I’m not really familiar with the whole Juul craze. Is it any good?
I mean while I’m not really a fan of liquid based vaping, I do own a couple of tobacco heating vape devices.
My trusty, first generation IQOS device, from PMI. The third generation is being released as we speak.
And my Glo. A device that BAT is rolling out across Europe, Asia and Canada.
They’re both viable alternatives to cigarettes. Less harmful and you can use them in places you wouldn’t be able to use cigarettes.

How about don’t get yourself addicted to this crap in the first place?

Juul was marketed towards children. That alone earns my disdain. Introducing an addictive chemical to a developing body is a bad idea.

Can confirm the popularity among kids . My wife teaches high school and she says probably a third of the kids juul. They’ll actually take a drag and blow it down their sleeve sitting in class.
I guess they are considered “cool” as opposed to cigs because they don’t smell and you get a decent nicotine buzz from them. But there’s gotta be an issue with all that nicotine in one hit.
She recently busted a group of girls in the restroom. I guess because they are so small they are easy to hide. The girl stuffed it in her bra, and my wife was like, “uh nope, saw you put it in there.”
In FL there are tons of small bodegas that don’t ID the kids, so they are having a hand time source limiting.

You'd be good at an AA meeting.

Why did the government wait so many years to get active about this? Mystifying. Big favor to the tobacco companies?

In a tragic way, your comment is hilarious.

Juul really blew up on the past year or so. Especially with the teen market. I don’t remember them being so big even two years ago.
For government speed I think they actually moved pretty quickly.

I w ouldn’t have as much of a problem with these things if theu just made them look like cigarettes instead of vibrators.
Also, they should all smell like cigarettes rather than some twelve year-old’s perfume.

Want to get mad? They just got purchased by Altria (formerly Phillip Morris?) and gave out an average bonus of 1.3mil to EVERY Juul employee.
Altria is just making sure they’ve got a backup plan as tobacco continues to implode. Juul makes me sick because I see their marketing as worse than just about anything Big Tobacco ever did. It’s very sad.
I’m all for people making their own decisions, but when all I ever hear about Juul (IRL) is my nephews 13/14-year-old friends using them to stay up all night to study or play Fortnite, etc. Most of them have stories about getting sick from them, going through withdrawal, you name it.

Who didn’t see this coming five years ago? I certainly did. We waited until we had a generation of addicted children in order to act.

I mean in the sense of “why in this day and age would you take up tobacco/nicotine use?” just that I’ve had several family members succumb to tobacco-caused illness (and one in the process of doing so.) I suppose if you’re using it as a stepping stone to getting off of cigarettes that’s different. then there’s the “fact” that Juul is totally not marketed towards young people, no sir, no way.
what that has to do with an AA meeting escapes me.

Its a huge issue in schools right now, mostly due to the marketing issues other people mentioned but also due to the small size.

It was an addiction joke. Which are hilarious. Nobody does anything with the intention of getting addicted.
