I spent $593.75CDN on wand washing alone this year.... Not to mention the fact I clean my cars by hand all the time. Svend, I challenge you to a trans-atlantic cleaning competition!
Yesterday.

Saw a house with a garage and two lots for sale for $25k here in town. A town that literally has nothing, but you know, at least it's cheap.

Honestly, I am totally down to move anywhere. But, my wife really feels like leaving here wouldn’t work for her.
I hope to move somewhere cheaper in the next 2-3 years. I’d love to have something that I feel comfortable at around 30 so we can figure out if we want a family or not.

Lol. I think I spend that on cleaning products every quarter. Got three cars done in the last three days.
Too cold to dry without creating dew smears so tyres not dressed either. But all cars checked for fluids and screenwash topped up.

Is that an actual thing? My neighbours always joke about washing the paint off. Surely leaving birdshit/dust/dirt on there is much worse.
I’m sure washing properly does no more damage than a rainstorm

As long as it’s a newer car and
you’re using the
same products as S
vend, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Washing if done incorrectly can inflict micromarring and swirls, which is why safe washing techniques are essential.
Pressure washers are safe as long as your not using industrial ones close up at 90 degree angles to the body or using patio cleaning lances that oscillate. They will only do damage otherwise, if your paint or clear one is damaged in the first place.
Anyone that says differently or says, 'but I know a guy, etc....' Should just be smiled at and ignored. I've been doing it for years from classic Triumph Spitfires to two week old Minis. Nothing at all has been damaged due to washing or use of pressure washing.

I’m extremely careful!

Yeah, your wife's line of work (and yours too, for that matter) is fairly specialized. And the only other places that are cheap to live and have available work are the prairies, and your mileage may vary on wanting to move here.

She’s finishing her Bach. of Social Work right now. Once she’s done that I think that we should move to the Island (Victoria) or the Valley (Chilliwack).
We’d get more bang for our buck and still be within the key 1-3 hour drive to family.

damn. And nothing could compete with his Skoda. It is pretty.

I don't share many people's exterior cleanliness prioritization on here. I love a clean beautiful car, but I'm not IN love with it. Keeping the interior in tact is where my limited attention span goes.
I washed the IS once this year. And by I, I mean the dealer. I don’t drive much and it lives in the garage.
Didn’t wash the longbed because the paint literally washes off now. Also, not a show-truck (though it lives in the garage.
Wife’s car... Yeah in April I think I did.

Svend is the master, you are just the apprentice.

Still haven’t given the Volvo a wash since buying it. Miata hasn’t been washed since summer.
I used to wash weekly :(
