Still just two. Also not sure if a GX would fit, in either height nor length...

That’s one of the rare non-nav cars. They can basically charge any price they want for that.

Blue is also a color of moderate to rare availability for these.

I think I've only ever seen these in white.  "Your peasant colors are too common for us affluent people! Begone!"

they also have a nice navy blue or my personal favorite, mid 200os GOLD. the burgundy was nice though.

Yes, the blue/gray is stunning IMO. Also the light metallic/olive green.

I see about 50 a day of this generation in suburbia (mostly cream and silver) . Sadly, almost none for sale. I guess that says a lot.

This gen is now “too old for Carmax” but “too nice for Craiglist” around here, so finding used ones is tough even though they are everywhere on the streets.

Are the later models (08-09) the best or were there particular years to look for? How about the later, refreshed pre-Predator face models?

My ‘01 Passat is falling apart in about 20 places so I’m seriously shopping soon. I love the idea of a Wrangler but really want more luxury and comfort. I also want something for light offroading/camping as my son (and his scout friends) are all starting to get out more.

I know cars with Toyota or Lexus badges hold their value better than other cars, but $16-17k for a used SUV with over 120,000 miles seems too rich for my blood.

I loaded it up on the Lexus owner’s site to check the history. Looks like it’s pretty solid. Although it’s been around the block. It’s had the timing belt service done with water pump at 90k, had the 100k service done. Most recently at 120k it had the radiator replaced (common issue with the GX. Mine was replaced just recently at 170k) as well as the axle boots and new front pads. It started in Winter Park, FL, then Melbourne, FL. Then it jumped to Plano, TX for a few services. Then Tuscon for one oil change, Then it ended up in Yakima, WA at a FCA dealer, and now finally Portland, OR. That’s quite the trek overall....

Seriously.  Still.  A clean car is a clean car.  I would buy this one had I not bought mine.  Thought it has to be said that although people FREAK out about the nav system going out (which never happens) I REALLY like the mark Levinson stereo.  Its quiet good.

Oh yea for sure. A *tiny* part of me wishes I had the non-nav so I could swap it out for a unit with Apple Carplay/Android Auto and SXM buttttttttttt I really hate the way aftermarket head units look in 99% of cars, including the GX. Car dashes are designed with curves and nuances that sticking a box with a screen in it just kills. My old Tahoe (04) looked good with an aftermarket headunit, but every vehicle i’ve had since doesn’t. The ML system sounds awesome in mine, and the screen works just fine, even with 170k. I’ve looked at forums and I’ve seen very very very very few cases of the screen actually going out or having issues, and even then, a replacement on eBay isn’t that extravagant. I kinda wish I got one with lower miles since i’m now <10k until my next timing belt change, but if I have to pay $850 (quote from local Toyota shop) and then it’s solid for another couple years, i’m OK with that.

As a guy who has only had black or dark green cars, I agree but also don’t love washing and waxing like I used to :D

05-09 were the models with dual VVT-i. You get more ponies but you also get a secondary air injection system that can cause expensive problem.  There was also a dash cracking recall, but most have had it done.  Lastly and its either a big deal or not a deal at all but there is no aux in on 05 or earlier models.

Aftermarket :D

Is there a decent SAIP delete? Or can you just ignore the CEL? I hate SAI systems, they always seemed like a complex, legal way to cheat emissions for no practical reason.
