Within my search criteria these keep coming up.
Mostly the 2.0 Turbos, are they cheap since they are forgotten about or cheap since they are terrible to own?

I remember the manual being very rubbery when I test drove one, but it seemed like a good car otherwise .
I seem to recall that they were not durable interiors, and some people criticized the engine, although a number of people modified them to be impressive, IIRC.

I’ve driven both a pre and post facelift top-trim V6 one and I absolutely loved it. Interior was adequate, chassis felt great, suspension was decently responsive.

They’re generally regarded as much better on paper than in person.
You’re better off with a Mustang (and enough cleaning supplies to make sure you can get all of the blood off the front bumper) if you must have RWD. Otherwise just get a GTI.

IIRC the transmission on the 2.0T ones like to blow up. Other than that, don't expect much more from in than you would from contemporary Hyundais.

The trans on the 2.0T is made of glass. Avoid.
You are far better off with a V6 Mustang or used BooSTang.
Or a GTI. Join us. We have cookies.

Thinking about it.

G TI if off the list since it’s fwd. Boostangs are still out of budget, a later V6 (2011+) could be possible.
