My wife, who works in Police Victim Services, was recently tasked with buying some gifts for children of women in domestic/sexual abuse situations. Kids would submit requests and my wife and her coworker would do their best to fill that wish within their constrained budget.
One 7 year old asked for a “remote controlled blue sedan”. My wife couldn’t find one at the mall but did find a Yellow Camaro and a Blue Ford GT. She bought the GT.
Hopefully that kid enjoys his gift. Obviously a future Jalop, asking for a sedan for Christmas .

I approve of this gift.

If Mercedes can call this a coupe, the Ford GT may as well be a sedan.

Psh. A real 7-year-old Jalop would have asked for a wagon. Fake fan.

One of my happier memories involves cars and a domestic violence shelter, oddly enough.
About 15 years ago I was a volunteer for a local DV shelter, just a few odds and ends, but I got to know the volunteer coordinator pretty well. One day she rang me up and asked me whether I’d be willing to teach a woman how to drive.
The resident had driven a bit in her native Turkey many years before , but had never had a license in the U.S. So, I helped her figure out what needed to be fixed on her beater car, and then we started an ad hoc driver’s ed class.
I tried to memorize a few key emergency words in Turkish (right, left, stop, faster) but her English was pretty good, and her son helped with translation when needed. We were lucky enough to have a bit of snow and ice one day, so we went to a parking lot and she learned a bit about what happens when you lose traction. (Fortunately she later moved to live with a family member in Florida, so hopefully that lesson will never be particularly important.)
Anyway, a fond memory. She passed her test, got her license, and hopefully has a much better life now.

Excell ent choice!
Our daughter’s school had a giving tree this year. My wife found the tag of a girl about our daughter’s age, that had been knocked onto the floor. Whoever this girl was, all she wanted for Christmas was a sweatshirt. A sweatshirt.
We got her two sweatshirts and a stuffed animal, and a headband with animal ears. Those are apparently very popular with the girls at that school.

Same. Very good work she’s doing there.

I loved my RC Ford Explorer when I was 8 or so. Looked stock too, normal tires with the 3 spoke rims.
2nd gen, red, four door. I cannot find one on eBay or anywhere :(

Somebody here bought me that car for Secret Senna last year. Not bad.
