Saw this on Reddit. The Quadrofolio wheel failed during the test drive. No wonder they aren’t flying off the lots. They can ba rely ma ke it out lol

What is going on with those brakes? Dual calipers? Im guessing the little grey on is a parking brake.  Waffle patter discs? Or is the the heat shield?

The broken wheel is the least of the problems with this photo. WTF with all the brake calipers and no rotor? Magic brakes?

It’s a two piece rotor.

The actual rotor broke away COMPLETELY and ripped the hat apart.

That’s even worse than the wheel failure.

I didn’t even notice that lol

Maybe the carbon fiber rotor shattered a few yards back when the wheel fractured and put the weight of the car on the rotor;  and the car dragged past all the debris ?

IKR. Had this happened to someone who owns the car, I guarantee the dealership would not honor the warranty and just say the owner jumped a curb or something.

I think they are CF on these. Maybe it shattered and broke away after the wheel failed. If only we had a source link, there might be more details available.

Based on the gash on the edge of the rim and tire, I’m gonna guess someone learned that hard way what happens when you have 500HP to the rear wheels and you turn off traction control.

Also, those brake parts don’t look new at all.  So maybe a test drive of a used car.

Uh, no. Those brake parts are absolutely brand new. There’s zero dust on the caliper. (These things make more dust than my Porsche.)

I also very much doubt this car actually hit anything. There’s no body damage fore or aft of the wheel well and the break at the bottom is WAY too clean. Might’ve been a pothole though.

Could have been a demo on the lot for a while, but still doesn’t look that new to me.. .too much pitting and corrosion already.

Agreed there’s not a lot of damage to the body, but damn, something had to smack it really hard.

They do have a second caliper though, i think its for the e-brake. I remember seeing that and being weirded out.

At the very bottom of the pic, you can see a chunk of the rim is missing. Slightly above that to the rear is a big white scrape. I am not an expert, but sure looks like they hit something harder than the rim. That’s not a scrape you get from the flat road.

You can see the tophat still stuck to the middle, with one of the clips holding the CF rotor to it left behind.
