But after all, all he did was blow up a fucking Japanese cruiser with a midget submarine then volunteer to go back and do it again, so why would I have?
It really was a different time wasn’t it , when ordinary folks did extraordinary things then went back to their lives and didn’t expect congratulations. I wonder what sort of stories we’ll hear as the veterans of more recent wars die off...

Absolute legend.
So many did so much, did things that if someone told you, you’d look at them in disbelief and say it was made up.
But these people did them, again and again and again. Many of them took what happened to their graves because the Official Secrets A ct was just that, a secret to take to the grave, no 30 year or 50 year rule after which it’d be okay to tell people.
