Aren’t cops riding on the back of those in full gear and face masks? Kinda a good vehicle for that, seems to be a stripped down version based on those wheels.

Considering Ford Lobos are also made in Cuautitlan , Mexico, probably sure they got a good deal.

Actually, that’s what those bars in the bed are for, they are for police to stand up in the bed, usually for escort duty and equipment mounting.

It’s not like the whole police fleet are these trucks, they are probably specifically for escort/tactical duty. Not cheap no, but what would be cheaper to do that particular job?

W e’ve got some more rural counties up here in the states that run those police package f150s - but no nifty rack in back there. I talked to a couple county mounties stopped at a gas station out in the middle of nowhere SE of Flagstaff a couple years ago - they really liked them, 4x4, better ground clearance for offroad and snowy situations, though they had just the king cab models. I’d think they might be kind of a pain for urban areas - awfully long...

I know but those are the feds... these are local cops. In Mexico City we have RAMS and they do ride in the back at times.... Only the feds ride constantly in the bed (which is illegal in most states for civilans but whatever)

Probably comes in the police package, but I also saw this municipality had vans for their cops.

As for Off Road situations, well, this municipality is both urban and rural, so they might have an issue with a regular cop car, I agree.

But t hey had this truck in the middle of the most congested area (the town center) and it’d be more adequate to patrol with either ATVs or SXS given the widths and the capabilities they need.

Oh yeah, this town has really pretty houses, and they’re hippie enough to have region-specific gardens rather than just laying swaths of grass that would have problems with this weather.

The federal funds? Sure... but what they thrive on in San Miguel is on property taxes, which are municipal in Mexico. 13% of the town are expats, and expats==money!
