And I get to drive it. F-350 Diesel, not sure what engine but it’s a V8. Got a custom tilting bed, Muncie PTO, it’s rigged for a Fisher plow, and the column shifter’s been deleted for an aftermarket console style one.

Most likely it has the
IDI engine
in there.

That is sweet. But like, when you tilt the bed, I guess the contents of the toolbox just get tossed like a salad?

Hoo boy this is a lot of truck rust.
Fixed it for you.

I doubt there's tools in there. Guy that owns it is a well driller. Probably full of rope and stuff.

Be careful, they are slow as balls. Don’t get rear ended.

It's impossible to get rear ended because this thing won't come to a stop.

If ‘87, it’s a 6.9 IDI, If ‘88-’91, 7.3 IDI. Both non-turbo, both slow, but not deadly slow. Both are durable, but the 7.3 had issues with coolant cavitation eroding the sleeves, so the coolant requires an additive. Beyond that either will run for 1,000 years.

As someone who once dailied an 04 F250 Crew Cab Long Bed, I can tell you that is only a little truck. ;)

they weren’t that slow for their time, 175 (6.9) or 185 (7.3) horsepower was competitive. Certainly not like the slug that was the GM 6.2.

Ah, the headlight floor switch that is quite likely the same exact part that’s in my ‘61 F100. I do like that system.

This is the owner’s other truck:
