Finally made another trade !
Sunday morning swap: Gibson Epoch Guitar for nice set of regulation size cornhole boards with a local brewery’s logo on them

I have a set of bags that I’m going to include in the swap to make the set more appealing. Targeting a highish price point of $150, up from the $130ish guitar. Baby step on this one, but I think it will pay off.

I sat on the guitar a lot longer than expected to be honest. I had some cash offers and was leaning heavily towards taking one until I found these.

T he iPad mini has turned in to a Christmas gift for my young cousin. Her brother is getting a hand-me-down iPad and this makes it so they both have one. I purchased some accessories for it; case to make it kid proof and, to ease the stress on my uncle, a mixture of long and short charging cables with good car and wall chargers to handle everything. Leaving headphones on the table for someone else to get.

Nice. Those are pretty sweet boards. Glad to see this progress. As a little side you should make mention how much time you spent on each trade. I’m sure some require no effort 5 minutes meeting someone but others may have a lot of back and forth or checking the product out yada yada.  I would imagine as the price point goes up the effort and time spent may as well . Also show us some of the worst trade offers sure some of those could get a laugh

Good point! I will have to do a write up of that!

So now that the class has ended I can also own up that this started as something for my negotiation course. I’m two quarters away from done with my MBA and cannot wait! That said I’ve done trade ups in the past and this is comfortably in my wheelhouse so I will 100% continue on with it.

it’s a mixture.
- Paperclip to PC Parts was via a guy here on oppo
- PC Parts to Segas was via my instagram (@boring.cars)
-Ram to Headlight bulbs thanks to an IT guy at work, he’s melting the ram down to take the gold out
- Genesis to Guitar rando from craigslist
-Dreamcast, pc parts, headlight bulbs to iPad another craigslist rando
-iPad to my young cousin as a gift
-Guitar to cornhole I found the guy via facebook market place
-Cornhole to Jersey craigslister, who is the coach of a local high school football team.

good stuff, I love trades and barter, but don’t have much luck with it as the mindset of this region is everyone thinks that they have more than they do and that whatever they have is worth only slightly less than they paid for it 12 years ago.
