Unfortunately, Albuquerque seems to sell Stingers weirdly well. I see three a day when I’m in town, and not even the same three! But in cities where Stingers are untouched, you can get brand new base models for $25,000! Want a V6, how about $30,000 and a back rub?! Even bigger savings are at the top. Yugo Czech’m out!

Kinja'd!!!

If you don’t mind paint problems then just grab a returned yellow Stinger.

Kinja'd!!!

And Kia offers 0% to 0.9% financing for 66 months, 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty and the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. Plus, that’s enough off initially to make the depreciation standable. If you’re going used then wait one more year. Buying new, 2018s are everywhere.

By the way, I saw $15,000 off on a brand new K900 and a deal for 0.9% APR for 60 or 66 months. Waiting to see if that’s a regular thing since the cars only started delivering last month.

They definitely seem to sit on the lots for a while. My Kia store still has 4 2018s. All of which have been in their inventory for at least 284 days now

GT2 RWD/ AWD under $ 35 k new and u nder $ 25 k lightly used   is the real deal in my opinion. Shouldn’t take more than 2 years for that.

Gt2 AWD under $ 35K new is the killer deal IMO. I’d give it 2 years or so before you can pick one up used for under $ 25K. Now tha t’s a solid performance sedan bargain.

Now we’re talking! At msrp or around msrp, I’d never get one - depreciation will kill these cars and lease offers are not good enough because they know their residuals will suck.

But, at 9-10k under msrp, lease on these could be interesting. The lease offer on my base model WRX was $2000 down, $220 per month for 36 months. That’s for a $27k+ car, with price reduced to $25500 or so.

Even with these discounts, I’d still be reluctant because buying one means spending time at a Kia dealership.

I wonder what will happen to its brother from another mother (G70) - you can get it with a manual and that’s all that matters. My WRX lease is up in April of 2020, but I could probably buy/lease around Christmas of 2019. A G70 with a 2.0L Turbo is like a grown up WRX, with some actual noise insulation.  I wonder how well those will sell. Genesis sales are shitty as they are waiting for their full lineup of CUV/SUV vehicles. I still can’t believe they started a luxury car company in the USA without a single CUV and with three sedans. I’m not a product planner, but I think it doesn’t take much to realize that wasn’t the smartest plan.

I fired up AutoTrader to search my area, and, uh, holy crap.

Kinja'd!!!

The cheapest GT2s are in the $39-40k range but still. Way cheap.

I want to be that someone! It’s crazy that t here are yet more great cars on the way too! E very refresh, new model, or new gen is a jump forward while the already good old stuff only gets cheaper. I’m torn used or new.

I know this pain daily. Would have never guessed my area would be one where these sell better than Rios and Sedonas combined (not a big number anyways).

I firmly believe the way to go is to just look at what makes a person happy in the right now and get the best value in that moment. Then, just hold on to it and enjoy it. Tech advances, cars depreciate, and if a person worries about all that, he’ll always be unsettled.

I always bought new and got what I considered to be good value, until this car.  Then, I was confronted with something that I deemed objectively as good as its competitors at less than half the price with limited miles on it.  I jumped and haven’t been sorry since. I know the new ones will be improved in every way and depreciation will bring them down to the cost my car was, but by then, mine will be paid off, and I’ll have had several years of great ownership with many more to come.

If it helps, Ive found that the Kia and Hyundai service departments are generally waaaaaaaay better than the sales half. Conversely, my Jaguar sales department is incredible but the service arm is pretty sad (though I dont blame them, working on JLR products sucks because the problem is simple but the fix is blood, sweat, tears, and vomit ).

Yeah it’s even near me. I wonder if they’d give more than I own on the e90...

I’ve never bought a car for myself without traveling more than 25 miles.

Oh thats not true my E90 was only a few minutes out of town.

depreciation will kill these cars

I’ve seen this line many times, and I agree. But at the same time the same thing is true for BMW, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, and pretty much every other luxury car, so I don’t understand why people keep making the statement like it’s unique to the Stinger.

That does sound good - buying it is only a few hours of your life, servicing...well, that depends on the car I guess and the Stinger hasn’t been around long enough. I’m 16 months away from buying, so by then we’ll know more.

Because this Kia is selling at $10000 under MSRP to begin with. When you find a $35000 BMW selling for $25000, we can talk.

I wonder how many of these ridiculously good Stinger deals are just being advertised with all incentives stacked. This is common for FCA and Kia dealers to do. Gets people in the door and then you let them down easy that they don’t qualify for all rebates.

I think used Stingers is where the true value will be found.

Somehow I don’t think I’ll ever find a $35000 BMW.

I’d be interested to find out if those cars advertised as new really are. I’ve noticed that car dealers aren’t always the best when it comes to attention to detail.

As for the GT for $30k, it’s not a GT1 or GT2 and it’s not new (it’s got a little over 11k miles on it). A base GT is $38,350, so yeah, it’s about $9k off MSRP, but that doesn’t seem unreasonable for a car with about a year worth of mileage.

I kind of feel sorry for anyone who paid the “market adjustment”, but I feel that way about any car.

$24k for a midsize RWD sedan is Grand Theft Auto.
