My car spent the first ten years of its life in the UK as LD54 VSK and armed with that information I can find out how it did in its MoT tests (annual safety and emissions check)

As so:

Kinja'd!!!

So many questions. Why di d it cover 13,000 miles between 2007 and 2008 and barely 1,000 the following year and 800 the year after that ? Why another 7,000 between 2011 and 2012 (new owner presumably). Why is it called black when most of it is blue?

“ Slight discoloration”   Very happy that we dont have the same level of inspection. Almost no car I’ve owned when younger would have been legal.

I think they are registered with the colour of the safety cell as the panels are (in theory) user swappable.

Yes, that would make sense.

I think Mercedes advertised the ability to change all the panels if you liked but the cost of the panels and the labour if you didn’t feel so inclined was prohibitive.

I took off a door skin a couple of months ago and it took half a day. The thought of doing the whole lot would give me nightmares!
