Update : Coker. Thanks everyone.
Somehow I’d forgotten or never seen the J12 concept truck from 2012. I watched the TFL video and the Jeep engineer mentioned that the skinny tires were reman military tires, but he didn’t know who made them.
Anyone have any idea who makes tires like this?

Coker Tire, most likely. Their whole MO is vintage looks and tread patterns made with modern techniques. I’m fairly sure they make a military style.

There are a number of European companies doing all-terrain and mud-terrain recaps.
edit: found this:
Specialty Tires of America Superlug.

Unfortunately I doubt they’re available in the states without paying an arm and a leg, but Coker fits the bill.

Anyone else agree the front grill on those AMC style Jeeps looks a bit like a series 3 Jaguar?

You can get Superlugs from Vintage Power Wagons, most M37 owners have them. I have Power Kings right now.

That’s a modern take on the Rhino grille, courtesy Brooks Stevens. It dates back to the Kaiser years, before Jaguar was created .

I’ve definitely found myself looking at grilles o n occasion and thinking that they do remind me a bit of the Rhino. I don’t know whether older grilles inspired Brooks, or he inspired successive grilles, or whether there’s no connection at all.

Why dream of the concept when you can buy an M715 pretty cheap? Several M37 owners I know have the STA Superlugs and I probably will if I change my tires. These are some other Cokers but they are pretty rough.

I had my shot recently but can’t afford even a cheap one right now.
Someday.

My friend had three and just sold them to some guy. One was bright yellow from a fire dept. I’m working on my M37, a few things to do yet!

Yeah he had one like that but faded. I saw a picture of one someone combined with a wagoneer and made an M715 carry all. Pretty cool.
