For less than half what an actual Viper of similar vintage commands. What’s Oppo think of these silly vehicles?

1. Rebuilt

2. Carl isn't that bad

1. Rebuilt doesn’t detract from the purpose of the vehicle, i.e. tire smoke & general silliness

2. Never underestimate how bad Carl can be

Is 35 grand for a viper somehow too much for you? for a handbuilt v10 supercar?

Get outta here

NOW we’re talking. This is a proper use of such a truck.

Btw is that the one “Yellow Fever” special edition?

I wish they'd bring these back, even if in limited numbers. The only real issue is that they weren't crazy looking enough. This, the F150 Lightning and the Silverado SS would probably still be around if they would have been just a little more bonkers on the outside to match the bonkers under the hood.

Don’t get me wrong, I value a Viper at $35k+  easily. The truck version is for when you want the noise & smoke without as much style or actual speed.

I have no clue. I was test driving a 16 Stag GT (as one does ) and that was in the back of the warehouse so I asked the dealer to pop the hood so that I could be awestruck.

These weigh 5,000 lbs before the driver gets in. 500 horsepower is kinda weak.

It needed a giant supercharger intake that’s taller than the roof of the cabin.

35k? I’ve seen 1st and 2nd gens with a ckean title and 50kish miles for $ 27k.

A bargain if you ask me.

If it handles anything like a normal Ram 1500, the 3.7 was terrifying in it. The body roll is alarming, and I drive trucks every day.

There are far worse ways to tow a racecar to the track. Worth mentioning, with drivetr ain stress concerns and being comparatively softly sprung in the back, the tow rating is only like 5 or 6k on one of these. You’ll have to tow your racecar on a open trailer with one of these.

Well, nice ones anyhow. Given how affordable they are in general I wouldn’t bother skimping on one.

There is something so quintessentially American about these. Loud, crude, overkill in every way, overcompensating for something, yet cool in its own way, with classic proportions. It must be grin inducing to drive and spin the wheels on demand. It’s awesome.  And having a V10 engine is just.. I can’t even describe it. I’d rock one in a heartbeat.

These require all new front end components every other oil change. Ball joints, tie rods, the works.

Someone in my town had one of these for a while, until he replaced it with a 5-series. Not even an M5. Glad I don’t know him, probably would’ve slapped him or something. for being so impossibly lame.

Anything more than $5k is too much more me... #cheapskatelife

I also got an E60 M5 for $1500. That’s got a 500hp V10, so hey, close enough.

I mean they’d have the current engines in them. FCA and GM have 700hp+ engines and Ford has something in the pipeline for their GT500. Putting those in their respective pickup tru cks would be plenty powerful

I’m already replacing the engine. Pulled the old engine out a few days ago, new engine is on its way now. Even with new rod bearings, gaskets, and a new clutch I should be at under $5k total for a running and driving V10 that revs to 8400rpm.

Oh I know. Lots of optimists roll into my shop with their “ good deals” and then leave really disappointed when they find out how much it costs to fix their “good deals.” And I’m one of the more affordable shops in town... with BMW you either have to be a savvy DIY’er or you have to pay people like me reasonable amounts of money. Ah well, I get to do what I love on a daily basis so I can’t complain!
