The original ones were apparently made out of Bakelite, which allowed oil into the spark plug holes and caused cylinder 4 to misfire. I also changed the coils because why not.

This is relevant to my most recent expenditure.
How does this, as well as my other work you’ve done on the car, rate will on the painInTheAssOmeter?

This was about a 7 hour $200 job. Would have been faster and less expensive had I done this as preventative maintenance. Also if you do ever do it, remove all of the plastic covers, and disconnect any cables that even remotely look like they’ll be in the way, including the fuel rail plugs.

Hah, noted. I’m hoping I’m good for a while as I didn’t see any sign of seeping. I’ll have to sift through the maintenance records when I pick up the car.
What do you think of Crimson Red?

It’s a solid red, I wish it had more metallic in it but it’s a good color on the 1.

It looks quite a bit like Imola red, which I like. I’m gonna have to get some shadowline window trim and kidneys to replace the brightwork but otherwise I’m really pleased this is the colour that broke up the sea of black examples I’d been avoiding.

The black trim will offset it nicely, just be warned that it direct sunlight it gets up to about 2 billion degrees

Hah, I will no doubt forget this immediately and accidentally touch it often when summer returns.

It’s the ATM/Drive through burn that’ll get ya.

I may have asked you this before but what’s your wheel and tire setup for autocross? I’m hoping to be able to continue using the 245/40R17 RE71Rs I have for my WRX but I know the fitment up front will be a challenge on the stock suspension.

225/45/17 RE71R’s on a set of OZ Ominia’s which are the same size and offset as the factory rears. You might be able to squeeze some wider tires on if you go more positive on the offset.

Interesting, l ooks like US sport package cars got 17x7.5” et 47 wheels in the back where Canadian cars got 18x8.5” et 52.
I’m gonna have to do some more forum digging to see what can be done. For the street I may downsize from what I have to 225/45R17 as I still have a set of pilot sport A/S3s in that size from my Golf but for autocross I’d like to squeeze as much tire under it as possible , especially if I can use what I already have.

The 18’s were optional for US market. I’m glad I have the 17’s because the ride is already hard enough.

Coming from my WRX, I can tell you it’s an improvement, even with the 18s. :D
