I’ve been looking at statistics, seeing as how it’s nearly the end of the year, and seeing what doesn’t sell in Ireland.
This, for example.
It’s a Twingo. Precisely one was sold, compared to three in 2017.
Or these:
Fiat 500L, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Subaru Levorg and Toyota GT86.
Not a single one of any of them was sold (up to November anyway and nobody buys in December
).

That is really sad. They should really buy more Twingos.

My neighbour has a Twingo in black.
It’s bloody ugly and completely opposite to what the first and second gen Twingo were.
First gen
Front engine, front wheel drive, three door.
Second gen Front engine, front wheel drive, three door.
Third gen
Rear engine, rear wheel drive, five door.
That stripe down the side is hideous too.

Not sure why they didn’t do a Renaultsport version this time round. Only this: https://www.renaultsport.com/-twingo-gt-2017-.html

It’s a 168bhp, 1.6 automatic only, which starts at £30,000.
For that you can get a more well known 1.5, 158bhp, Ford Mondeo estate with a manual gearbox. Starting at £23,000.
A 1.5, 138bhp, Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer , with a manual gearbox. Starting at £22,000.

There’s 29 of the damned things on Autotrader.
They’ve been out for four years and I’ve probably seen two but can’t be sure as they aren’t all that memorable.
There’s just so many more better estates of it’s size, better economy, better price, etc...
Granted it’s a good looking car but so are many others out there.

I was still onboard until you said auto only. Ew.

Ye’, why pay more for a car with less options.
That same money will get you a rather decent
2018 252bhp, 2.0, BMW 3 Series M Sport shadow edition touring.

Wow that’s a 60 ,000 dollar car here in the US at least

This spec lists for £35-36,000 but you can easily get them to drop a few grand.
The 330d estate is a common car here, especially on police forces.
((even if some forces have replaced there’s with Volvos))

Wow I still about 2/3 of what one costs here. I never new that

I think once you factor the ex change rate, etc... it won’t come that far off.
BMW found there was more 3 Series BMWs on U.K. roads tha n Ford Mondeo/Fusion.
