They’re competing against Toyota to see if the C8 or Supra will be the most dragged out launch in history.
They’re teasing mirrors now: https://www.motor1.com/news/297503/first-supra-barret-jackson-auction/

I don’t care if it ends up being a Caddy or a Vette, as long as some rich person trolls the rest of the automotive world by throwing a Fiero badge on it.

Good luck topping the NSX. Although the S upra feels like it’s already surpassed that.

Before reading the article, I was wondering what sort of “major electrical issue” could cause a 6-month delay, and how could they have possibly overlooked it up to this point. One of the things that crossed my mind was “what if they used a bunch of carbon fiber and suddenly realized that it doesn’t make for a very good grounding point?” Probably not the case, but the thought made me chuckle.

Still got nothing on the LFA. (According to my Wikipedia search just now) The replacement NSX started development in 2007, but was canceled in 2008 because of economic conditions and the project pivoted to just be a Super GT car: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_HSV-010_GT . The NSX we actually got in 2016 started development in 2011.
LFA development started in 2000, the car was finally ready in 2007 but delayed to 2009 when they decided at the last minute they should actually, after all that, switch to a carbon fiber tub instead of an aluminum frame.

Please oh please...the automotive Internet is ripe for this kind of trolling.

Actually, the reason why it’s definitely not a carbon fiber/chassis ground issue is a lot more obvious that I thought. Because DUH-DOY , we’ve already seen prototypes driving around! Of course they would ha ve noticed a ground issue like that a LONG time ago.
Still funny to think about though. I’m sure there are a few folks out ther e who had a brain-fart trying to attach a ground wire to fiberglass or whatever.
