1. It doesn’t have heated seats.
2. The brakes.
That’s about it.
Giving up and ordering brakes (rotors and pads) for it soon. The grinding, squeaking, and shuddering are beyond ridiculous considering the car just passed three-years-old and has just under 34,000 miles. I’ve never had a car go through brakes this quickly, although my wife’s 2013 CX-5 needed brakes itself at 48,000 miles. I guess Mazdas just don’t have long-lasting OEM brakes?
My rotors warped and started shaking at 16,000 miles (!) and I had them resurfaced by a local shop. Before driving to Florida in October of this year (at 32,000 miles), I had that same shop check the brakes all around and they said the rotors are likely warped again but the pads are fine.
I know calling the rotors “warped” isn’t technically correct, but the bottom line is when I apply moderate pressure to the brakes (such as slowing to exit the interstate), I get a noticeable shudder and shaking. And, the brakes themselves constantly squeak/squeal at low speeds and even make grinding noises - unless I’m just being paranoid.
Does anyone have experience with Centric brake stuff? I have this in my RockAuto cart.
I’m a little nervous about doing the rear brakes with the whole electronic parking brake thing, but my mechanic has done some research and says that getting the the electronic parking brake module
to disengage shouldn’t be too big of an issue. We’ll see.

Centric rotors are good, especially the ones with the mounting and venting faces painted black! No idea about the brake pads but it seems like a good idea to get a packaged deal.

Our Honda has heated seats. But only in the glutes. Not where it matters, which is the kidneys and lower back. Plus just two settings, “barely there” and “what the hell?”
So you still have a chill, but your ass is sweating. What sense does that make?
Not all heated seats are equal.

Hmm, I just turned 59K on my Mazda5 and I’m still on the original brakes. Earlier this year the dealer did say that they are due for replacement soon, but I think they were a little premature. But I have the 6MT so maybe I’m not doing as much braking as someone with an automatic (which I assume you have).
You can retrofit heated seats with an affordable kit, and I thought of doing that. But I've found that once I start the car then get out and remove the snow and ice the car is toasty warm. But I usually torture myself in the name of vehicle longevity, and on most days don't turn on the heater or air conditioner until the vehicle is up to operating temperature. On most mornings this means that I'm freezing for of my commute; thankfully is only a 2.3 mile commute...

1. Have you considered taking it to a upholstery shop to intall heated seats?
2. I don't know about Mazdas brake quality but some cars with stability control can really chew through brakes quickly.

I did fronts on my Mazda3 at 50ish - both pads and rotors (they needed it... worn and warped) but it’s still got the orig pads on the back right now with the current owner at 115k...
And I’m in the minority and don’t really like heated seats... (but my wife loves hers)

My eight-years-old, no-options Jetta has front- seat heaters with three settings. And it has all-original brakes at 122,000 miles.

My 17 year old Jetta has heated seats with six settings for reasons I’ll never understand because setting 3 is what I plan to use to ensure I don’t have any more kids.

I can agree about the breaks my breaks do similar shaking when i really get on them. I also had a problem with the bose speakers going out is a known issue and i hate the paint in this car.

I have Centric rear pads on my F30 right now... they work fine. No complaints from me.
I went local for a set of Zimmermann with the rotors though, they didn’t have the right ones, kept returning me E92 rotors in the results.

That seems expensive for Centric brakes from Rock auto. I’d try piecing it together without a kit to compare pricing. I’ve used centric on both my Miata and subaru. Cheapo solid rotors and never had any issues with warping or anything funny. On the Miata, they made it through a whole year of track days and like 20k miles on top of that. On the STi, I’ve had them for a few months and like 5k miles just s treet driving and no problems so far. Haven't used their pads but I don't see why they shouldn't work.

That is super annoying about the brakes. Do you drive the car every day?
I ask because my car will often sit for a few days, after which the brakes are quite unhappy sometimes. The pads stick (rust) to the rotors and the brakes have that familiar shudder for a bit. But either a good session of hard braking or just several days of normal driving and they *usually* get better. I can always do a brake bedding run and get them smoothed right out, but that’s a bit extreme.
My current car has 175,000 miles and I have no idea how many sets of rotors it’s had. I bought it with 120k though, they weren’t new then, and I only just replaced them at about 168k.
Most annoying: my wife had a Volvo S40 that we sold with 140k, still on all original brakes and they were worn down, but still completely safe, within spec, and worked perfectly. When we said it had all highway miles, it really had all highway miles.

If it makes you feel any better, the seat heaters in my wife's CX-5 are so weak, they're virtually worthless.
