What did you do, Oppo?

how do you break a wheel bearing?
![]() 12/10/2018 at 03:49 |

Pulled on the brake drum with an extractor BEFORE we remembered to take off the hub nut. The drum came off and the bearing stayed on the hub.
That’s not good. Shit happens, live and learn, yadda yadda. Next time spend more time on tutorials online before doing stuff like this.

Workshop manual beats YouTube gumbies on most occassions...
My weekend involved moving a water tank, felling trees and not fixing a tractor...

I stayed in Houston so I could have a flying weekend. The weather limited me to one flight all weekend. I should have gone home.

My Ranger is in the process of lunching a wheel bearing. I think it’s the right front; I’m’a give it a bit to get noisier so I can be sure which one it is.
on the upside, it’s a bolt-in bearing and hub assembly. on the down side, it contains all of the ABS stuff as well and is a $300 part.

$300 for ONE? And I was just about to ask why do just one side.

hub + 2 bearings + tone ring + ABS sensor. integration has its downsides.
and I don’t buy cheap bearings; they don’t last.

I’m an expert at not fixing tractors. I’ve been not fixing them for 25 years now!

went on a blind date, found out I’m 6 years older than her and felt like an old creep.

Oh man sorry about that. I’m sure you didn’t come out as a creep just for that, it’s just your age. I think creep-dom comes from the way you behave anyway.
