Well, a lot of people blame the “mini big rig” styling of the ‘94 Ram. I call BS on that, because those trucks weren’t especially big, they just had cool styling. Heck, they didn’t even make a crew cab version of that bodystyle.
I blame the 2004 F-150. Those trucks were rather bland looking, IMO. They were, however, the first half ton trucks to massively bulk up. The ride heights wer e jacked up, and the sides of the bed got super deep along with the beltline. These were the first full-size half ton trucks that you couldn’t really reach into the bed to grab something from the ground.
