For $16k, this thing is worth the asking just for the chassis and drivetrain. Looks in reasonable shape to live in too, costs about as much as a year of rent in a lot of big cities. I’d be all over it if I had a place to park it.

Geez. The depreciation on these makes buying a new Bentley look cheap.

Step 1: Buy it.

Step 2: Drive it to Silicon Valley

Step 3: Sell it as housing to some single hipster software developer.

Step4: Profit

Could probably make $20k in profit for a few days’ driving!

I’d say they’re about the same, this RV was probably about $180k new. A 1991 Bentley Turbo R was around $195k new, and a good example can be had for about the same money that this RV is going for.

Ford aerostar tail lights. I like identifying what lights RV manufacturers use :D

That’s cheaper than I thought - I know it’s easy to get these things to 400k and a lot higher if you option them  out.

$180k back in 1991 is roughly equivalent to $338k today, adjusted for inflation.

True - any way you slice it, this thing looks like a bargain at 16k. Look to be in nice shape too.

I just looked through some listings in the Houston area and found five of them for less than $15k. Wow.

How many are diesel pushers on bus chassis?

On a bus chassis? I don’t know. But four of the five are diesel and at least two confirm they are pushers. If the search is expanded to the broader area, there are more.

I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising, Texas is one of the places “snowbirds” come to escape the cold weather up north.

Step 5: Write article about it for popular car website.

Step 6: More profit from ad revenue from article.

I still want to find one of those 70s GMC motorhomes with the nailhead V8 up front. One of my favorite designs ever.

I love the look of these and thought about buying one. Problem is the front wheel drive system ( engine and 3 speed chain driven trans shared with Toranado/Eldorado ) isn’t easy to upgrade so you are stuck at 55mph and probably 6mpg.
