Steve Rogers goes into the Quantum Realm to set right what Thanos has done. While in there he has to make the “ ultimate sacrifice” to save everyone. What the Avengers don’t know is he finds a way back to the 1940s and has his happily ever after with Peggy while quietly flighting for justice when the need arises. It solves a lot of problems. Steve “dies” in a dramatic moment, but also gets a happy ending for him and Chris Evans that everyone desires. He could also come back if they need him.

I think it’s gonna end up being Tony that has the make the ultimate sacrifice. This is supposedly RDJ’s last movie with Marvel, so it only makes sense that Iron Man has a meaningful farewell. Plus, Cap can’t die or age. So if he somehow went back in time to the 1940s, then he’d still end up in the modern day without looking a minute older.

I think you’re probably right about this being RDJ’s Iron Man death. However, I’m guessing that it’s Iron Man that has to fly into quantum realm. It will change the course of events, save everyone, but poop Tony out far from Earth. Then again, if that’s the case, they gave us too much in the trailer!

I still need to go and watch Ant Man and The Wasp. I missed the whole Quantum Realm deal, lol.

It was a lot of fun—gave me a similar feeling as the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” when I had otherwise hit my superhero-movie saturation point.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily are great, but Michael Pena steals the show, again.

There IS already cannon written on this story in, i think, 1968. A character named Living Tribunal exists in the Marvel Universe.....

I would laugh my ass off if the movie is actually a court room procedural.

Thor, Captains Marvel and America, Valkyrie and Iron Man punch Thanos to distract him.
When fired on one of Hawknin’s arrows, Ant-Man does not enter Thanos’ body but one of the Infinity Stones. Perhaps the Time gem where he can have an unprecedented degree of control, perhaps just personally time-jump to a past to deliver plans to the Avengers for defeating Thanos. Perhaps jump all the surviving Avengers back to team up with themselves.
Or, each of the Infinity Stones is invaded by a different hero as it will take all six to undo what was done. The gauntlet no longer operates the gems so they have to be worked separately. Mind - Captain America? (somebody needs to use the mind powers to communicate with the others and co-ordinate the changes), Soul - Nebula (where she meets Gamora), Space - Rocket (as he is an engineer), Power - Banner/Hulk (brain power/muscle power, you decide), Time - Wong (the most powerful wizard available locally) or Pepper Potts (because who knows more about Time management than a good PA with enhanced abilities?) and Reality - Black Widow (Russian stereotype, they know grim reality too well).
Unfortunately, there is probably no room for an armoured rhinoceros on the spaceship they will be taking to Thanos’ retirement home. Though the 1972 Ford Econoline van will be essential.
While the ones inside the Gems work to re-set the Universe, the ones outside fight Thanos to protect them. Captain Marvel and Thor were incapacitated in the fight to remove the gauntlet from Thanos - so Iron Man has to stop Thanos from getting to Ant-Man before he can get the gauntlet to the van with the Quantum tunnel in the back. He finally uses all of the arc reac tors in his suit as grenades, releasing all their power at once. Some hit, some miss but it is not enough, Thanos is too tough and too agile. Weaponless and unable to fly, Tony runs at Thanos, clamps his arms and legs around Thanos’ chest and uses the last arc react or he has, the one in his heart.
Ant-Man carries the gems into the Quantum Realm and things get all sorts of layered weird for the heroes inside the stones, like the Doctor Strange astral version of Inception . Thanos has difficulty with the controls on the Quantum Tunnel because his fingers are too big. He has to find some tools to try to operate it.
They manage to work out how to control the Gems and re-set the Universe and unSnap everybody. They make the mistake of telling Pepper that Tony died in a suicide attack on Thanos while she is still in the Time gem. She time-slips Thanos into the event horizon of a black hole. When asked why she didn’t reverse time and save Tony she looks at the questioner without seeing them, because she is blinded with tears. “Tony would not want that. We saved billions of planets with ten to the power ridiculous people today. He would not want us to risk that victory on another toss of the coin.”
While they were reversing the Snap, Steve’s mind lost its grip on his body as he touched all the minds in the past, present and future of the Universe. His body is left, a lifeless husk. It looks like even his mind will be lost in the maelstrom of sensation. Just as he gives up hope, though, he hears music and feels the presence of a familiar mind among the torrent, then the touch of her hand drawing him close. He finds himself being led in a dance he thought he had missed forever.

It’s been pretty widely speculated that time travel is involved and I wouldn’t doubt that showing that picture of Peggy Carter is foreshadowing their reunion. You might be pretty close.

I was also under the impression they’d age Steve up out of the serum somehow. So he is fridged, but can be thawed out later if the need arises for Chris Evans to rent a fleet of private planes.
