CT scan results are in.
I’m being admitted tonight. A mass found on my colon. Time for a differential to see if this is a tumor. If it is, it’s not terribly unexpected.
I don’t know if it’s cold in here or if the trembling is because of the news of the possibilities...

Well shit. No idea what to say. Hopefully it is benign, but if not, at least you can start treating it.

A good friend of mine survived stage 2 (he said the doctor told him stage 4) colon cancer. The worse part was that all the chemo rotted out a hip bone so he has a titanium replacement.
Basically what I’m saying in my drunken stupor is that it will be ok no matter what.
Stay strong, Gran Fury!

The possibilities are endless but what's directly in front of you is all that matters. Focus on that rather than letting your imagination run riot.

Keep the updates coming. We are all here for support. For what it’s worth, my wife has had cancer 4 times since 2000. Latest is stage 4 ovarian diagnosed 2 years ago and she is still going strong. Think positive thoughts always.

Sh it, I’ve been dealing with health issues for 3 or 4 years, but nothing like that. Find a care team you trust, get to a good hospital, and take of yourself. Make sure your support people take care of themselves. US News and World Reports actually has a decent system for ranking hospitals in your area with regards to specialties. Use it to make sure you get the best care you can. Good luck.

Thanks. I don’t know yet, but I’ve got appointments scheduled with my regular doctor and a colonoscopy next week, and then a follow up with a GI sometime after that. The GI’s office didn’t seem too concerned about a 2cm mass, although the CT results state: concerning for adenocarcinoma. I don’t know about you, but that seems a little worrying to me; I’ll just have to live with the insecurity until the procedure is done.

Hope, in the end, the worry proves to be the worst part.

Fuck. I really hope it is just a malignant mass. I really hope you are going to be ok.
