This guy misses an oil leak (happens), lost all oil, engine overheats, now it sounds like something is loose. Are you kidding? I'm giving you that price when you have a paperweight up front? One less Mazdaspeed

I love it when they say that the engine is more or less toast then say it's perfect aside from that. It's like telling someone they're in great physical shape, aside from that bullet wound through their heart.

“Aside from the thrown rod and destroyed crankshaft, it’s in perfect mechanical condition! Also the body is perfect, as long as you respray just the hood, the trunk, and both doors . Also, it’s a Mazdaspeed with all the original parts! Except for the pile of mods I listed below. NO LOW BALLERS I KNOW WHAT I HAVE.”

Speed Mazda prices are often...amusing. A friend and I went to look at a Speed 6 a month or two ago and it was a decent price, but it had some issues that the owner obviously didn't fix even though the ad said he did.

“...oil leak without me noticing, all the oil leaked out...”
Low oil pressure light burnt out? Smell of burning oil on the exhaust?? WTF?

I mean, I got 3 or 4 oil leaks on my Miata, but they all do. Just keep an eye on it.

yeah... that’s BS. You can clearly hear the difference, (and should know better anyways.) Somebody trashed it and is trying to get rid of it at top dollar.

Also the tires have full tread, but were made in 2008.
The shifter is fine, but needs a knob.
Mirrors are perfect, you just have to find new ones.
Will also consider diesel trucks with low miles.

This is just stupid. You don’t just “miss” an oil leak. The majority of oil leaks are either going to be leaving a puddle obvious or should be apparent when you check the oil level at least every once in a while. Do people drive older cars and not check the oil when they fill up gas?? Especially turbo cars!!
This motor also gets really annoying valve ticking when you run it more than like 3/4 of a quart low. I can’t even imagine how awful it would sound with 2 or 3 quarts missing! Just a lazy fuck.
At least the price is right if it's not rusty. Usually you see this and then a $6000 FIRM price tag..

NB Miata oil pressure gauge is all but useless unfortunately. You will blow the motor long before the needle moves. Same as the coolant gauge. There's mods out there to make them useful but stock they are dummy gauges. But yeah still, smelling oil and checking it regularly are the easiest surefire ways to stay ahead of that.

lowering springs
That’s it? No brand, type, spring rate, nothing?
I can see a 17 yo selling a 90s Civic just saying “lowering springs”, but most Miata enthusiasts have at least a little interest
in knowing specifically what was done to the suspension.
