The old one set a false code for the Purge Valve control circuit. The new one started setting multiple coil circuit codes and missing like crazy on the first drive. There are signs of moisture on the circuit board and I don’t know what that blue corrosion-looking substance is on the upper left near that capacitor. Quality control seems to be slipping.

07 CLS550. Really rough. ...it’s ALL neglect. Battery was definitely low, and there were plenty of low voltage faults, but over half of them were actual, currently present hard faults.

It was a tow in... Topped it off is an understatement... there were three empty gallons of oil in the back seat... oil puking out of the dip stick stem and everything

This time it was my bad..I was rushing a shit paying recall, thought I had threaded it enough before zapping it, I was wrong..

This was just driving it in, only ran for about 10 seconds in the shop, I was turning our vent fan on, opening the garage doors and closing the doors to the rest of the building. Then we all left until it was clear.

No shit he brought us special “no smoke” oil to fix this.

Great stuff this week! I had a mouse make a nest in the air box of my Mustang. Another one took up residence in my Camaro over a winter making it reek of mouse piss. That one got his neck snapped by a trap. Mice just need to stay the fuck out of my cars.

A few years back I was between jobs and doing some snow removal for a resort. The skidsteer was an older beat up unit, and it would burn a quart of oil over the full course of the shift... but only if it was running all shift, and most days it would only see a couple hours’ work. One of the other guys working there didn’t seem to make the equation that if it burns a quart in eight hours it only burns a cup in two hours. Or maybe he was just lazy, I don’t know. But instead of checking the oil in the morning he just dumped in a full quart, every single time.

There was another really rusty one that almost made the cut instead (frame rot). Much worse than this , but this one caught my eye on account of how localized the rust was, compared to the metal around it.

Same here. When I browse JRitS, I treat it like a game, where I avoid re ad ing read any of the reddit comments and try to figure it out first. This one had me stumped at first, because I thought I was supposed to be loo kin g for a paint blemish .

Both of those happened when I wintered my cars at my parents’ house. No cats allowed at their place but my mother says their terrier kept circling the Camaro and really wanted in to it but he didn’t manage to catch anything. Now I can store it at my place and we do have a cat and no mice. Those might be related.
