I am going to do this today, setting up in Excel, shouldn’t take too long. Parentheses matter. I wish these design guides were written with more narrative . “this one time Jimmy forgot the density of water and all hell broke loose”

Forward this to ttyymmnn. He lives for this stuff.

I knew as soon as you started talking about forgetting the density of water that this wasn’t going to be in m etric/SI units...

I was told there would be no math.

I was thinking of tagging it: ttyymmnn cries

Way back in the day I used to do my calculus homework in LaTeX. So beautiful.

Oh, that’s good. I did like the tag you went with though.

You can do it all in metric units but the material I am working with is all in English
units. We just ignore the difference
between mass and force in E
nglish units and everything seems to work out.

Awww, does the poor baby not have Maple?
Also, listing the density in units of “lb/cu. ft” rather than lbm/ft^3?

But see, I actually understand that one. Sad!

I look at something like that and am fascinated to see the math at work. But the thought of actually understanding what is happening is beyond me.

My college used Maple and it was one of the pickiest programs I’ve ever seen. I recall copy-pasting working code and having it not work. Then watching someone else copy-paste and having it work.
Then I met MATLAB and my life was much better.

It’s so funny how you’ll have to pry my Imperial units from my cold dead hands for daily use, but as soon as you switch to math and physics, I will murder you for making me use them.
