Odds of them coming to Saskatchewan: slim. Odds of me still wanting to go: high.

Yeah you’re right.

I was thinking more Blues Traveler. But the BNL’s are a solid choice.

I remember them. they had that one song, you know, the one MTV played the video for over and..
See, MTV used to play these things called “music videos,” which were...

Token Liberal is correct- - I saw them in ‘99 at a festival. They were closing for Van Morrison.

It’s especially sad when you remember when they started MTV2 to show videos(I still remember Beck’s “Where It’s At” was the first video shown!) while MTV went into “reality” and scripted shows. Sadder still that MTV2 no longer plays videos, which have been pushed down onto MTV Live (formerly Palladia).

I saw them at a festival in the summer of ‘99. They were the last act of the day, after Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Lucinda Williams and others. Most of the crowd left after the Van Morrison, and many of the people who did stick around booed Hootie (this was well after their peak) .
It was pretty sad, really - not like the band did anything wrong at all. I always think of them as a really good bar band that somehow blew up - and as a result, anyone who thought they were ‘serious about music’ decided that Hootie was unworthy. I always liked Cracked Rear View - still do.

I guess this explains why they were performing on whatever morning show my mom had on.
