Deciding between Gunship Gray and Light Sea Gray (left and right respectively). Just ordered supplies from the Redline Shop, and gotta get primer, paint, and clear coa t later in the week. I feel like the latter is more of a vintage racing color than the former, I could be wrong.
Pic for reference
What say you all?

Only one of these options would be acceptable to me lol
Audi Sepang blue or Nardo Gray.
Porsche Lava Orange or Sapphire Blue.
Or Mazda’s Soul Red
Or Gulf, Martini or Weissach livery.
Update! K I read the post. Do the grey lol

Well there’s the vintage grey/silver:
and then there’s the vintage grey...
seems like all the cars from that era are “grey” based on the photos!

Light Sea Grey definitely.
The very mild tan undertone will contrast nicely with the blue headlights, and the red stripe on the red liner wheels.
The darker grey will make the red pop out more, but it’ll appear unbalanced w/ the blue glass since the gunship grey has blue undertones.

I like Light Sea Grey. Are you doing any striping? I think it would look awesome in that grey with some red or forest green stripes. Very period racing, I think!

I wasn’t planning on any stripes.

The Porsche 917L, which is your model, was run exclusively by Porsche System Engineering (the factory team) in 1969 only. The variant was retired at the end of the 1969 season and only 1 was ever sold to privateers. The factory Porsche team only ran the car in white, as did the John Wolfe privateer 917L (which was destroyed in Wolfe’s fatal crash at Le Mans). If you had to paint the car one of those colors, I’d say go for the lighter grey.

If white is a possibility I’d go with that. O therwise the light grey.
