Just curbed a wheel in the GTI. Not to bad, but I am mad at my own careless stupidity.
You can mock me Oppo

Shit happens. This could just be an excuse for new wheels.

Why mock for a curbed wheel? I’m pretty sure we’ve all done it; and whoever hasn’t done it probably will next year.

Oh man, this hits me in the feels. I was coming out of my work garage a couple months ago, like I’ve done countless times, and veered a little too far to the right while looking at oncoming traffic. Scraped an $830 chrome wheel on the edge. Chrome! That means no easy cosmetic patch. I was so mad at myself.
Point being, I felt that I should be mocked, too. I think we should all post when we do it, because it definitely helps us feel less stupid.

I did it to my IS the first week I had it. Because BRAINS.

Time for aftermarket wheels. #firstmod

I’ve done it to two different wheels on my GTI. That low profile with kind of narrow tires is a tough combination.
I have a third wheel very slightly out of round, but really not noticeable in terms of driving feel. I considered getting a new set of OEM wheels because the look has grown on me.
But I’m convinced that as soon as I replace them, I'll just curb one or more right away.

My stock wheels on both my last 2 cars look worse than my winters. Explain that one.

Honest to god, one of my favorite parts about driving a Jeep is not having to worry about rashing my wheels. 112k miles of touring around in my wife’s BMW has done a number on her wheels. I want to put 17” steelies with meatier tores on her car.
