Still enjoying the cubed life?

The snow makes it look a lot rounder.

So far. I do need to track down something, though. It seems to be losing a small amount of brake fluid from somewhere. I have to put in the equivalent of a couple tablespoons every couple weeks. I think there might be a leaky brake line somewhere.

So much of this thing is round and curved. I love the humor of it.

cold, actually

Is it possible that it just appears lower as your brakes are wearing down/ as the temperature is dropping?

I don’t think so. I think there’s an actual loss happening.
I did notice that after it sat for the last 5 days without me driving it, I had to put in less. So maybe it’s not losing much when it’s stationa ry.

That was probably just wishful thinking on my part. And it’s entirely possible that it leaks more while driving due to vibration of the car, or it leaks more when you use the brakes.
I must admit that I’ve been more aware of Cubes since you got one. While browsing CL today I came across this one locally:

I love these cars. So boxy and ugly and cool and practical. Do they make adequate power?

It’s not bad, actually! It's one of those cars that manages to feel like it has more power than it does. You do notice it's not as powerful as you think when it comes time to pass, but even then it's still acceptable. If my Fiat 500 had had this much HP I probably would have liked it a lot more.

Power enough for the 93% of your driving.

Pretty much. Plus i t has so much space, it’s comfortable, everything is designed well and where it should be, and the cheap plastic doesn’t seem that cheap.

I’m driving a Versa and I’m shocked by how much I like it. Really surprised. High-concept beer can that won’t be around when it’s 30 years old like my ‘89 Camry -- which is about to get scrapped -- but very sensible and comfortable.

Yours is a ‘12, right ? We had one of those with the 1.8 and 4-speed auto at my last job, and 3 ‘15s with the 1.5 and CVT. The three ‘15s all sucked. They’re so slow and the CVT is atrocious. My Cube with the 1.8 feels about the same power-wise as the Versa with the 1.8, unsurprisingly. The shape does affect the MPG. On our 500 mile round trip I only averaged just under 33. The Versa with an auto usually got 35-38 in mixed.

Yes, 2012.
I believe you once told me you “flogged” the CVTs “mercilessly,” now that you mention it. My versa with the 1.8 doesn’t get 35-38. More like 25-30.
