How hard is that if I may ask? My dad did the opposite and became a German citizen yesterday. He had to pay 3 grand in cash at an American consulate to give up his American citizenship.

its a long and precise process. I took my time and tried to be cery thorough and everything went smoothly. took about 12 months beginning to end (plus the 20 years as a permenant resident, but I only needed 5 to qualify)

apllication was sub $1000, and then take into account vacation time for numerous appointments.

Good news! P ermanent residents can already buy those! Although technically some states ban them so you have to buy the less leathal wooden stock versions and not the evil black versions.
