I’ m caving to perceived peer pressure and presenting my own car history. But I don’t carry around pics of all my cars like most of you apparently do. These are stock photos (but all the same colors and trims as I had).
1988-1995
The first car I owned. I grew up in Indy, and my sister’s boyfriend’s mom was a fleet salesperson at an Olds dealer. She got me a good deal on one of their pace car replicas.
1995-2004
My first stab at luxury. It was a pretty nice ride, but with the usual Buick interior quality for the time. At least the engine was supposed to be bulletproof...until it grenaded itself on my and was worth nothing on trade-in.
2004-2015
Sporty but also practical, and very different, this suited me very well. We had a lot of fun together until the second engine lost compression. Time to jump ship...
2015-present
My new convertible, or at least it was originally supposed to be. I decided to jump on a great deal and revisit the modern concept of big luxury while I could afford it. Twice the hp of any previous car I owned.
2001-2015
My wife’s Solara, bought when we first moved to Dallas. Legendary Toyota quality, except that one of the cylinders went bad, and time to move on.
2015-present
The wife finally got her minivan wish and realized her true destiny. This is a great road trip car.

All my photos are in google photos. I even uploaded the photos from my childhood of my parent’s first digital cameras.

Young whippersnapper.
I dl everything into iPhoto for archiving. I don’t bother keeping cloud storage for all of them.

I used to put all my pics on Photobucket. Now I wish I hadn’t. Most of those have been copied to Facebook.

I guess Korean cars really have made their mark. My mom also traded a Toyota for a Korean
A 3rd gen Prius for a 2016 Sonata 2.0t, when it was new.

I must say. Kia is an impressive brand.

My mom said it was mostly thevalue that sold it. The car she got was loaded, and I’d the fastest car she’s owned and they didn’t go broke buying it.
They even considered an Equus because they were offering crazy deals on them, bt my mom stilll thought t was too much money, even tho it was a lot of car for the money

Well they won me over. I really wanted to by another Mazda, and yet...

Exactly. But value has two sides of the equation, right? Good price on one side, and quality on the other. You didn’t used to get both with Kia, and that’s the real difference now.

How on earth did you blow up both a Solara and a Riviera? That’s me-level luck.

I know, right? Worse, I think I used up everything I have left keeping an RX-8 going for 11 years.

I had to do some serious interneting to find the pictures I did. Remember kodak gallery online? Yeah, they don’t exist anymore.

I had a website with my car timeline on geocities, it is long gone.

Yes, the whole, we'll take care of it in the cloud for you is the biggest line of BS that most of the world seems to have bought into. Sure they will until they go out of business or decide to charge you major bucks for it, see also, Photobucket.

You gave up the RX8
at the 2nd engine? My RX8 Nut friends are in their 4th or 5th.

First replacement was taken care of by warranty. Second one was going to cost me $5k out of pocket. I thought about it and decided it was time to move on. With the later engines and their improvement of the seals, I probably could have expected to get a long time out of it, but it had been 11 years, and I was ready for a new daily.
