Impressive! I wonder how much is original.

I aspire to be this kind of Porsche owner.

You mean, put on by the original owner? If it’s a ‘90, that comes out to right about 15k per year - completely reasonable for a daily driver. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a one-owner car.

I think he means the original engine/trans.

I’ve seen a 500k + mile 996 posted somewhere, I need to find it.

Yes, that makes more sense.. . I assume it’s been rebuilt a couple times, but air-cooled engines can last forever, right?

Wow... and that thing is clean!

Yeah, I meant how much of the car is original. Condition looks great regardless of miles, but phenomenal for a car with over 400k on the clock. Air-cooled engines do have quite a bit of longevity when well-maintained.

Did you see the car Jordan linked to?

Damn, I thought this 280zx with over half-million miles over on Speedhunters was impressive.

I had a ‘63 Corvair with the original engine that had clearly been around the block a few times. Ran like a champ still. DD’d in Phoenix one summer and it only started to overheat once.

Simple is hard to beat. I love the idea of taking my M3 to 250k+ miles (I’m halfway there) , but know that the odds are stacked against me with all of the complex electronic systems it has.

Yeah, that thing is insane, but everybody says the Mezger is nearly indestructible.
