Mr Milligan, the service’s assistant delivery office manager, had written: “While we’ve been delivering your post, we became aware of some concerns.
“So I just wanted to take this opportunity to contact you about how we succeeded in the delivery of your letter, to your dad in heaven.
“This was a difficult challenge avoiding stars and other galactic objects on route to heaven.
“However, please be assured that this particular important item of mail has been delivered.
“Royal Mail’s priority is to get our customers’ mail delivered safely, I know how important your mail is to you.
“I will continue to do all I can to ensure delivery to heaven safely.”
Jase’s mother Teri Copland said her son has been “overwhelmed” and “emotional”.
She added: “You didn’t have to make the effort to do this, you could have just ignored it, but the fact that you have made the effort for a little boy you’ve never met is such a lovely thing to do.
“Royal Mail, you’ve restored my faith in humanity.”
I’m a little emotional right now.

Helping kids process death is a rough one. I had a student years ago who started talking to me about her dad’s cars. At the time I cycled through driving a ‘63 Corvair, ‘66 GMC, Abarth 500, and a old 4wd Subaru to school, so my passion for autos was obvious. She knew about cars, and was telling me how her dad supercharged their Escalade and brought Ferraris home for her mom etc... Well, one day after class another student came up to me to let me know her dad had passed away a few years prior.
Fucked me me up. I started tearing up right in front of this student, and the after that, the whole class every time this girl brought up cars.

Could of been archived away or sent back care of the mother in another envelope either with this letter or in a separate one.
Maybe like all the santa letters each year, just put away.

Death can be hard to process at any age with whys, what happens nows, is there something else after this life, etc... so many things .
Sometimes youngsters process it better than we can.

Because though it’s sad, it’s also beautiful and heart warming.

Nothing wrong with that at all.
It's a very emotional piece.
