That’s pretty common in this neck of the woods. Usually comes with a sticker that says this car was repossessed from your local drug dealer.

One that gets me every time is a yellow taxi cab that is an under cover cop. I hate those.

Glad I looked into this actually. Typically they are fully yellow and no police markings on them but I see they are changing things up with that explorer. Hauling ass on a highway. Taxi explorer in front of you. BAM. It’s B rian O ’C onnor pulling you over for reckless manifold shenanigans

those are sneaky, but are both common vehicles for police.  A mid 90's mustang is pretty rare these days.

Better than Toronto Police attempting to make ALL their cars regular gray sedans with barely visible markings, not far from being unmarked.

...until they got yelled at and made the doors white.

I really don’t know if I would trust pulling over for that.... Also, what a strange place to pull over.

From their point of view, it makes sense to blend in and be as invisible as possible until the very last moment. After all, this is party why they hide in bushes and behind signs in the first place.

I am just waiting for them to downgrade to minivans and crossovers.

These half and half cop cars are part of an anti DUI program.

Yeah, but when your regular patrol cars look like that, that is.

They also have completely unmarked cars.

The idea was like this: “If you’re going to drink, take a taxi. Or you’ll be riding in the back of a police cruiser.”

That was sort of the general message they were trying to get across.

Either way, you will be in the back of... taxi or police cruiser.

Late reply because I’m catching up on Oppo after basically being away the last two months. The official design for all Connecticut state police cars is silver no logos. Even their fully “marked” cars. This is what every single car in the fleet looks like:

Although a little research hasn’t revealed any good reason why Connecticut does this whole “silver sedans” thing, another interesting aspect of Connecticut’s state police cars is that the troopers who drive them are allowed to take them home and even use them for personal business, which isn’t the case in the vast majority of other states. Maybe troopers who take advantage of this policy don’t want to drive around in a marked car all the time — and so, the Connecticut State Police cars are silver. Just silver.

So the state officially allows personal use of public funds.... right.
