I love finding information out about my car, as I am sure many of us petrolheads do, regardless of what we drive! :)
I was browsing around the ‘net last night and came across paint code charts for all he Hyundai models from my car’s model year (2009). My car is painted in by far the most common color for the 2006-2010 Accent sedans/hatchbacks, i.e. paint code ‘2M’, called ‘Charcoal Gray Pearl’...oddly enough, this same paint code seems to have been called different names in different markets, despite being literally the same color and paint code. The official touch-up paint pen that came with my car lists the color as being ‘Midnight Gray Metallic’.
I tend to call it the latter as the paint is definitely more metallic than pearl! I’ve always liked the rare ‘Apple Green’ color on my generation of Accent hatchback, nice to see something more bright and cheerful!
My old 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5TS wagon was code 07V - ‘Savannah Green Metallic’..
What color/colors did/does your car come in Oppo?

hmm that title.... I thought you were asking about dildo colors.

The Lancia Monte/Scorpion only came in 8 colors through its run that I know of. Most are pretty standard colors although they’re “green/verde” is more of a seafoam green or teal than a standard green.
Fieros came in less colors apparently the factory was only set up to run 4 colors at a time, so I’ve heard
Although they did offer a bright blue color and a yellow for one year each.

My S80 is Moondust Metallic (beige), but I wish it was Green.

In the BMW community (at least with M cars) you can dig as deep as how many cars were produced each year in a particular color combination (interior/exterior) with particular options etc...
With my Ranger I took me more time than I’d like to admit to find out what the Red was actually called (Vermillion)
The availability of colors on the M3 depend on the year and aren’t limited to factory offerings if you want to spend silly money for an “individual” color. That said the only ones that matter are:
Phoenix Yellow
Laguna Seca Blue
Imola Red
Techno Violet
Atacama Yellow
Dakar Yellow
Oxford Green
Estoril Blue
Avus Blue

I think this is missing one or two. But that’s most of them.

Fintail era MB offered plenty of choice :
My car is DB334.
I can only find a list for modern cars, no paint chip/samples, but I think the W212 had a dozen colors available.

Galaxie: Corinthian White on Champagne Poly.
Rover was Poppy Red like this one originally, but I repainted in Marine Blue. Only other colors were Mint Green, Bronze Green, Limestone, and Sand.
My Ranchero has no paint code on the door, but was painted this shade of green as part of a fleet special order. Which fleet is likely is an exercise to the reader:
My W124 is
Rauchsilber
. Or as this chart terms it, Smoke Silver Poly.
IIRC I previously had the Lincoln decoded as Peacock Green, but it’s actually closer to the Palm Green in this sample.
Some other fun options like Claret and Bolero Red and Pearl Blue and Cameo
Rose were available.

D oes my what comes in?
Seriously though the 40th Anniversary Land Cruiser only came in 2 colors.
Antique Sage Pearl (old shiney brown)
Dark Emerald Pearl (swoon)
Mine is the former.

1995 Mustang:
Mine’s E9, but it’s more of a “Laser Pink Metallic” nowadays. Still see glimpses of the original shade in places like door jambs, though. Gorgeous color when it’s not faded.

White, almost always. Had a burgundy BMW, couldn't find a white one though.

Aside from the bright red, the Solstice actually started off with the typical German rainbow.

Those wheels look great!
They’re just painted steelies right?

I’m going to call it typical German madness that they had such a complete spectrum from gray to blue and green in tiny steps with infinitesimal tint variations in amount of green, etc....
German man: “VERDAMMT, I want the Tundra G
reen! Do you think simple ordinary Green has the faint
hint of silver that I want?”

My Mini was offered with almost as many upholstery options as it was paint colors (ignoring the fact that each paint color could also be paired with a matching color roof/mirrors or have a black or white roof) . Mines Pure Silver with a black roof and the Panther Black/Gray cloth interior.
In 2005 Mini offered a stunning paint called Purple Haze. It was a one year only color and the general consensus is that it is the rarest Mini. I’ve seen 3 2006 GPs and still haven’t seen a Purple Haze car in the flesh, that’s how rare they are.
Also, I’m a total sucker for deep, wet looking colors.

Mine is one of the silvers (I think the electric, but I guess I’d need to check the pain code). I don’t think it’s a great color for the car, Ruby Red, Magic Blue, or Barents Blue all would have been nicer choices.

FJC 17 steelies.. I like the clean white wheel look;
it makes me think of the old pickups..

Ford had a bunch of cool names for colors for FOSTs. Mine is a new color this year... and its just called blue metallic. Wowza.
Pontiac changed the paint codes every year, and bothered to do interesting names as well. My t/a is in nocturne blue If you see a theme here, its not an accident. If you are interested:

There’s a Solstice around here, but it’s the usual boring silver....I saw one in that blue once, most seem to be black, red or silver, so it was a welcome change!

Those wheels look awesome! Digging the darker Silver Sky Metallic!

I remember playing around for a long time on the Mini configurator back in the day - it had a dizzying amount of color options! 0_o
Indi blue with a white roof / mirrors was
among my favorites!

I quite like Ocean Blue and Brilliant blue as well....I am a sucker for metallic brighter blues!
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:09 |

Very nice! Blue is my favorite color, but as
I am a fan of bright colors,
that yellow and bright blue are my two preferences! :D
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:10 |

For me they aren’t quite bright enough. If you are going for a bright color on your car, make it really bright.
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:11 |

I like it when manufacturers bother to actually give interesting names to their colors beyond “Metallic Black” etc. It at least makes you think they care enough to bother!

Sorry - had typed it on my phone in a hurry on a break between things in my schedule and did not even notice my typo that Autocorrect somehow butchered!
XD
Antique Sage Pearl...? I do love me browns! Too few cars have brown as a color option these days...coppery metallic browns, especially!

(in Italian, of course
) for the Scorpian!

Ah, Estoril Blue....I would say it’s one of my favorite M colors...I seem to remember it as one of the colors when I used to play Need For Speed High Stakes over and over again as a kid! :D
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:17 |

its more a silver brown.
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:17 |

The brighter blue was my preference, I thought a lot about the yellow but couldn't do it as a DD, then I saw my color and fell in love. Enough color to be interesting, not enough to shout "LOOK AT ME!".

There are two Lotus Elises of that generation near here, the ONLY ones I’ve ever seen anywhere in the province. One is that brilliant orange (which is my favorite kind of orange!) and the other is that awesome lime green! Both owners have done some cool mods to them as well...very cool to see them out and about! :D
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:20 |

OK, that Mother-of-Pearl Green is awesome...I love older colors. It’s understated in a way, yet bright and cheery regardless!
![]() 11/28/2018 at 14:20 |

Well mine is gray (in fact both my cars are, it just turned out that way), so that’s not helping, lol . Green is actually rarest out of the regular production colours.

When I was looking for my ’ 95, I wanted a blue one. I don’t remember which shade of blue I found , but it had an automatic, so I kept looking . Every once in a while I think about repainting this one someday, but it won’t be a color change because I don’t want mismatched door jambs, firewall, etc. and I ’m not going to go through all the trouble of removing the engine and such for that .

That last comment was...... so wrong :P

My car’s specific trim came in five colors , and only one of them is actually a color: black, silver, matte silver, white, and red. Mine is black.
My 4Runner came in 8 colors (2005). I suspect mine is the second-most common color, if not the most common: Titanium Metallic.
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:34 |

Sterling gray and titanium silver matter too for us boring people, dammit.
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:39 |

It definitely is! ‘Regal Peacock Green Metallic’ just sounds so fancy though! :O
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:39 |

Oh wow, never knew that color existed for these, it looks really good on that car!

Does it have a nice shimmer when the sun hits it?
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:41 |

My car came in a pretty good variety! Some colors are more rare than others, like the thundercloud metallic! T hat color is by far the most beautiful silver you’ll probably ever see stock... Unfortunately, my sportcross came in millennium silver metallic, which is the MOST BASIC and only ugly when its next to my boyfriends thundercloud IS300. My brother had an 01 in Diamond white pearl with a manual/LSD.... most rare combo for our cars and he let it go at a bargain... what a shame.
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:41 |

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in green in my life. There is a fellow here who has a Saturn Sky (the Solstice’s sister car) in black with the beige top...looks quite nice. I wonder if they shared color options?
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:42 |

Yeah, total repaints are a pain in the butt....

Imperial Jade Mica looks quite nice! I do love deep greens as well!
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:44 |

I’ve seen a fintail in that or “light green”, attractive color for the car. The early 60s did that well.

I like silver on cars that have a lot going on (WRX/STi, GTR, etc)
![]() 11/28/2018 at 15:56 |

It looks great on 3rd gens, but unfortunately it looks like shit on 4th-gen 4Runners because it was only available in 2003 , which have a bunch of ugly gray body cladding that has since faded.

![]() 11/28/2018 at 20:23 |

It was an uncommon color on Impreza sedans of that gen, but somewhat more common on the Impreza Outbacks/Impreza wagons.
It was a nice deep green with a very nice extra sheen when the sun hit it! :)
