Hey, how you doin’? I’m ordering new winter tires (Continentals,
155/70 R13
), and I’m wondering if I could just get new wheels as well.
Off to my local “craigslist”, and I found these, which I love, but I’m not sure they’ll fit the Twingo.
Have a look at these pictures o f the wheels on the ad:
And compare to my car’s specs:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The ET39 (offset number, if I’m not mistaken) is the only one I think is off. Is it a big deal, will they fit? Is it even a close call or are these wheels wayyy off? Educate me, Oppo. I’m good with tyre sizes but I’ve never bought new wheels.
Should I just call the guy and go and test them out on the car or is
it
a lost cause to begin with
?
Btw, t
hanks to the law here
, t
he ti
re size must stay the same so I can’t change that. The tires must be 155/70 R13.
Thanks Oppo!
P.S. If this works I’m totally Trans-Am-ing the wheels to gold/black.

So as they are the wheels may receed into the car too much and rub against something. Spacers may alleviate this, but thats over a centimeter to get to factory. For something slow like a twingo it may be alright but im personally not keen on big spacers.
You may also need to factor stud length.
Another thing to consider is your hub size. But if its a used set of rims, that info isnt as available.

The thing with offset is, the higher the number, the more ‘inward’, so into the wheelwell, your wheels will go. Worst case scenario, youll need a set of spacers to counter rubbing, but the difference does not seem too big (with et36 still fitting under the Twingo).
If the guy doesnt live too far from you, I’d do a quick fit, especially for the front, and try driving under load to see if they rub/dont fit.
By the way, I thought you were somewhere along the coast? The car has Zagreb plates...?

First off you need to check the bolt pattern. If you can’t even mount the wheels on the car, you won’t have to worry about the offset, brake fit and rubbing issues...

Thanks for the help. Yeah if I’ll need spacers I’ll most likely give up since it’s too much extra money and add-ons, I just want to quickly find an extra set of wheels for the winter. I’ll definitely post about how it turns out.
And yep, I’m in Zagreb. I traveled along the coast this summer, so maybe you’re remembering some pictures or something.

Oh yeah, stud length I didn’t even think of. I’ll maybe call and go over there on the weekend to try out the wheels. We’ll see.
