Howdy, Oppo! Say hello to our newest family member!
We haven’t named him yet. E verything automotive I tried was shot down. :/
He’s a five-month old chocolate lab from a reputable breeder. He’s already started training as both a show dog and a hunter (they say he’s better with quail than with ducks). The big benefit with getting an older pup is that he’s already well behaved.
He’s heading home with the family right now. He seems to like riding in the Outback, even when he’s been belted into place. He either sits or lies down and enjoys the ride.
He’s a very good boy.

That's a cute dog. What automotive names have you tried?

D’awwww! He’s a handsome
fella! Why not something automotive-y that doesn’t SOUND automotive-y, like...a company or figure your significant other and kids wouldn’t know?
Tatra or something along those lines? :P

D'awww. Labrador always have such sweet and friendly facial expressions.

He’s adorable!!
(Don’t tell my mom, but the kitten’s name “Ellie” is short for Elise. As in Lotus.)

Hello! He’s a doll!

Hello puppy. He’s a cutie.
How about Trevor, as in TVR, which is what Trevor Wilkinson called his car company when he foundered it.
Humber as in the old English car company which Richard Hammond’s grand father worked for.
Argyll, Morgan, Bentley, Berkeley, B radbury, Brotton, Brooke, etc...

Trevor is a good name. I’ll present it at the next family discussion!

We tried out scientists on one round and Nikola Tesla came up. It was promptly shot down.

The list is too long.... My daughter caught on and started vetoing everything.

Well, I’m out of ideas. May I suggest Fluffles McFuzzlefeets? :P

Rollo was a top contender for a while. I even tried for Heath. Two of my favorites! My wife really likes Hersey bars, so maybe that would be of interest.

I thought they might go for Doggy McDogFace. :D
I was wrong!

Well there is also dog history in TVR. Later in TVR history the boss, Peter Wheeler’s dog Ne d took a bite out of the corner of the foam model of the TVR Chimaera, and Peter liked the look and incorporated it into the design (he tidied up the dog bite a little I’m guessing). So when the Chimaera debuted in 1992.

Must have looked better than it did on a Porsche.

The night that I found my dog outside in the rain, I had been watching the Top Gear Africa Special. I said "I shall call you Oliver." Turned out that he was a she, so that's how we ended up with Olive.

Rollo was the name of Henry Mercer's favorite Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

Walter or Jeffrey.
Don’t make it complicated.
Cute dog! Nothing like picking up 720 steamy piles of poo every year!! I kid. You don't have to pick up the doodie.

What a cutie! I’d name him Miata.

Awww, who’s a good boy?
Choco pups are my kind of pups..

I can honestly say I’ve never heard of him, but a quick search enlightened me!

Oliver. Now that’s another candidate!
![]() 11/24/2018 at 18:40 |

Despite popular sentiment, Miata is not the answer when it comes to naming dogs. :)
However, Tom Matano might squeak through!

It's a sneaky automotive pick.

We train our doggos to go in the back ditch. The poo gets washed down to a wetland at least once a week. The only downside is the occasionally muddy doggo feet.

That’s a great looking doggo. Congrats!

Jesus. That sounds worse than picking up dog poop.
Cute pup. My buddy has a gun dog that would probably stand on his head to make you happy i f he could figure out to do it.

Nah, Louisiana weather takes care of it. Low maintenance.
The lady we bought him from started training them at 5-weeks. This little guy will stand as still as a statue if you ask him to. He’s calmer in the car than either of our other dogs. It’s amazing what good breeding and a little training will do.

Congrats! I have a dog coming from all the way from Romania at the end of this month, she’ll be 6 months old and has some basic training. They tend to past the mouthy chew EVERYTHING stage by then as well. She’s called Mouse currently, but we’ll rename her with a Romanian name most likely. I wish you and your new pooch a doggy lifetime of happiness.

Thanks! Good luck with your pup, too! Our pup isn’t past the chewing stage. I just heard from my wife - they’re working frantically to puppy-proof the house. :)

I grew up around Doylestown, local hero/eccentric .
He was apparently friends with Henry Ford & Harvey Firestone.

Awww. Hi cutey. I name you “Tucker”. The wife will never know she just approved a car name.

Tucker is an excellent name!
